This Movie Can Only Be Described With One Word.
Horrible, fascist and poorly acted
Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
View MoreStrong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
View MoreI decided to watch this film after having watched Wendy Delorme and Judy Minx in "The Final Girl" because I really enjoyed that film a lot. Obviously, this is totally different; it's a road film that flows from one segment to the next, seemingly without any particular rhyme or reason. Sometimes that's a real plus; in this instance, it's more of a mixed bag. A lot of serious issues are touched upon, but like the sex scenes, they're really touched upon too little to make any lasting impression. It's as if this film can't quite figure out what it wants to be. Some scenes have real hard core edges, while others are just watered down way too much, giving the film a very uneven and amateurish feel. Also, there's a difference between something being funny, and people engaging in sophomoric, silly/giggling self-consciousness. To my taste, this film engages in too much of the latter and not enough of the former. The five things that stood out the most for me were: 1. One of the performers stated that she'd like to have a child, and in preparation for that event she realized she needs to severely limit her own negative self talk.2. Judy Minx talks about porn, and how if one doesn't like the porn that's available, rather than take a no porn approach, one should consider making porn that suits one's needs better.3. The movie makes a statement that it's important for men and women to view a cervix, because it's something that most people never see. (Anyone who watches this film can no longer make that statement.) 4. The movie points out that pussies have almost universally either been put up on a pedestal or cast down into hell, and it's important to normalize them and view them from a more neutral, middle ground.5. The movie imparts the sage advice that it's important to be as nonjudgmental as possible. All in all, this is certainly an interesting endeavor, but as one other reviewer pointed out, the material really could have been handled better if the editing had been more adept. This was admittedly a challenging project, and it is worth seeing IMO. If nothing else, it really made me wonder what these women are like in person. The closest thing to this that I've seen is "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", although that had more of a story line and had better character development, whereas this is more of a pure road film in which, unfortunately, you really don't get to know the women all that well.
View MoreI was expecting a lot of nudity, sex scenes, a sexy atmosphere combined with live shows, LGBT and women's rights and a fun road movie. But when I saw it, it was like someone had put all those ingredients in a bag, stomped all over it, peed on it and tried to smear it on a banner and show it to everyone. You get what is expected if someone did that to all those interesting ingredients. A lot of things are thrown at you, just not handled well at all, and completely messed up.The girls are naked for about 90% of the movie (a quarter of them not very attractive), have random sex with each other, doing sex shows in the private corners of cities, in which half of them are really off putting, talking about gay rights and feminism, peeing everywhere and driving around Europe. It's a shame to see something that could have been very special muddled up like that, that omits a lot of truths, starts talking about important issues but hardly goes into details about it. Instead the details are only reserved for sex and women's crotches.
View MoreThis film tries to sell itself on "feminism, sex art and education" it only succeeds on one of these.Feminism - not in my dictionary, there are moments of man hating and moments of lesbianism, but there is never any constructive mention of equal rights.Sex - this is succeeds on, but its gratuitous, unpleasant and pointless. various acts of sexually explicit stage performances are shown in detail. There is even a scene where a woman allows her cervix to be examined by strangers, apparently because most doctors are men and therefore not enough "women or female bodied persons" (?) get to see a cervix. Ridiculous.Art - art is very subjective but to my tastes this is as far from any kind of art i can think of. There is at best very loose story lines or points to any of the stage work you see, it is also all shot with what appears to be a hand held camera in the crowd, this makes the picture shaky and unpleasant to watch.Education - this gets a little wound up, cause the idea of this education anyone is repellent. it tries to teach women to hate men, all through the film there is references to men controlling women, but none of them are confronted with a educated response i.e. trying to gain equal rights for men and women, not gain more rights for women than men.i see the film makers as a female version of a male chauvinist and for that reason alone this film loses all credibility for me.
