I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

I decided to watch it since it is a comedy but i must say I didn't feel much comedy in it. Sure there are jokes here and there but for the most part I haven't laughed watching it.We also know how it ends. since it is one of the very predictable movies. So there isn't much excitement and wondering involved. One doesn't really get too connected to the characters. Actually the only thing where I was rooting for François Nouel was for him to get divorced from that awful woman who was his wife and never supported his dreams. the characters are all pretty much without any depth and just some sort of caricatures.actually the one thing I enjoyed through the movie was watching the beautiful landscape of France.

GUENOT PHILIPPE

A classic, typical french comedy around sport - the famous Tour de France. In the line of LE FILS A JOE or LES SEIGNEURS - for soccer game - forgettable but quite entertaining. Every thing, or almost, is foreseeable, full of clichés. But I like sport films - myself am an athlete - so I don't really watch these features like other ones, with the movie buff's eye, see what I mean? I don't put much attention to the filming, editing or even acting. But, of course, if it's very well done, I appreciate. Clovis Cornillac is a lousy actor, so are the other ones in this flick. I was glad to see the great retired athletes like Bernard Hinault or Laurent Jalabert in cameo appearances. Some good surprises, in this film. For instance the Italian cyclist who is shown in the first three quarters of the movie as an arrogant and unsympathetic character, eventually is a very good one, just in the end. And the sequence between Cornillac and the Black musicians, Rap singers, when the accept him in the first place and he nearly insult them just after...You don't expect this. I love that. But that doesn't make it a good film although. If you have nothing else to do, no shopping, no dating, no sport practicing, really nothing but boring yourself, so go and see it. Maybe it will prevent you to commit suicide...
