Too much of everything
A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
View MoreA film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
View MoreThere is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
View MoreThis documentary is a collection of comments from a number of Star Trek fans, followed by interviewing the contributors and actors from an amateur Star Trek re-creation website www.startrekintrepid.net (not available anymore). With no narrative, and not hearing the questions that are being put to the interviewees themselves, topics switch between various aspects of the Star Trek universe without much cohesion. You need to piece the questions together based on the answers that the various interviewees are providing. With a title called "a fans guide", I was expecting some kind of actual "guide" that would explain various aspects of the Star Trek Universe. You won't get this with this video. There is an expectation that you already know much of what Star Trek is about. The middle of the video goes into some detail around how they cast, create and shoot Star Trek episodes from the web. Low budget, but you know they are passionate trekkies. Not really worth sitting through unless you are one yourself.
View MoreThis is less documentary and more just friends agreeing on liking Star Trek. There is no reason that this should exist, let alone be on IMDb and readily available online. I know it's a fan based documentary but there are absolutely zero quotes from cast members and no footage to backup the interviewees story. If I wanted to listen to a bunch of philosophy majors talk about Star Trek, I would have a screening of Scott Bakulas Enterprise at the closest craft beer bar. There's nothing more satisfying than drinking beer and dissecting Star Trek, this film makes me ashamed to wear my Federation badge.I agree with most of what is being said but that doesn't make for a good documentary. We all agree that it's bad to kill animals, the only difference between a nature documentary and this is that at least we see the animals that you are talking about.
