Let's be realistic.
Excellent, a Must See
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
View MoreOne of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
View MoreWhat was that? This story must have been written by a 10 year old. Or worse. A 10 year old would know how to write a better script than this rambling nonsense. It started mediocre but three quarters through it i was praying for it to end hastily, it was so excruciatingly painful to watch this mind-numbing farce. I pity the few good actors who willingly defecated on their career by being accepting the roles. The voice-over was horrible. as was everything else.
View MoreThe actors, camerawork and set design is wonderful. but that is everything good about it.. it was an empty story. a story which seems hopeless, is still ending good and that's such a cliché. i am dutch myself and really would have liked real dutch actors to play these roles. there are some real talents over here.
View More(Flash Review)Would you rather invest in Bitcoins or Tulips? Well in In 17th Century Amsterdam, Tulips were as profitable and erratic as the stock market. That fascinating story is the backbone for a complicated love story. An older and wealthy merchant forcibly marries or buys a beautiful and youthful orphaned girl with the main goal of birthing a child for him. Later, he hires a youthful painter chap to paint their portrait. Of course a romance ensues between the two youths, yet the painter needs more money for his plan to secretly start a new life with the girl so his invests in tulips. A convoluted plan is hatched to earn money fast to start their life. How will things shake out? With many dramatic story lines, surprisingly the film felt flat. The characters weren't likable, no surprise from their actions, thus were unengaging. The various plans seemed partially unbelievable and there was of course a double cross mixed in. It had nice production quality and great cinematography. Overall, it's a fairly unique story, has great actors yet failed to enthrall.
View MoreAn artist falls for a young married woman while he's commissioned to paint her portrait during the Tulip mania of 17th century Amsterdam. Tulip Fever took 3 years to be relased and it makes sense to be honest, the dialogue is cliched and horrendous, the characters are bland and boring and the overall romance is terrible plus there was more sex than actual storytelling as well. Also DeHaanand Vikander feel miscasted and have zero chemistry together as for other great actors like Dench or even Supergirl's David Harewood feel out of place. Overall this movie gets a no recommendation from me. (0/10)
