Are fantasy stories involving themes of dominance and desire, written by women, feminist or oppressive? In this 2.5 hour short film, Natalie Wynn ("Contrapoints") analyzes the controversy surrounding fantasy by written authors, specifically reviewing Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey. She applies feminist, psychological, and psychoanalytical theory in defense of her hypothesis that the gender-based dominance in these works of fiction enables these (self-insert) female characters the freedom to explore sexuality and desire.
