Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Dreadfully Boring
Amateur movie with Big budget
I wasn't born when this amazing show first aired,I was born in 83 so my first time watching it in its fullest was early 90's and it amazed me,having never seen anything like it before I was slightly obsessed, having rewatched it as an adult recently it hasn't lost any of it charm over time
View MoreI remember when this TV Mini-Series came out I was 12 years old, and was totally blown away. I still think this is the best TV Mini-Series ever, yes Kenneth Johnson didn't have the budget George Lucas had; but considering I still thought the special effects ROCKED. I think disguising the aliens as lizard people was awesome, compared to all the other sci-fi movies done prior; we never had aliens as lizards. The concept of aliens coming to Earth wanting to be our friends and sharing their knowledge with us, probably was a ratings hit right there. I was so into the mini-series I was glued, along with my friends and parents to the TV for three nights. The plot really heated up when Mike Donovan found out their true identity; and the real reason why they where here in the first place. The action in the film was great Donovan sneaking on board the Mothership, seeing them for what they were. The Visitor's, reptiles, who eat rodents; and who have a secret agenda for us to use us as food, train some of us as soldiers for their military and to take our water. With the help of Mike Donovan, Julie Parish, and other's we had other plans, start a resistance group with the help of the Visitor's 5th column on our side; and fight back. This movie is a classic and V-The Final Battle is a terrific follow up. These miniseries are still at the top of my list and I recommend them to anyone who likes good movies. Thanks, Kris L. CocKayne
View MoreI never understood the appeal of this poorly made TV show about alien invaders. I also never understood the appeal of "BattleStar Galactica," which this series reminds me of. Cheesy special effects, horrible acting, hideous costuming and plots that constantly go nowhere. If you want to see a halfway decent series about alien invaders, check out a short-lived TV series, "The Invaders" with Roy Thinnes. What that low-budget show did was to put Thinnes, admittedly no great shakes in the acting department, in a series of "The Fugitive"-type situations as he battles alien invaders. Those of you old enough to remember will note this same angle was used for "The Hulk" TV series with Lou Ferrigno. As for "V," it is certainly watchable for its campy value. The gal playing Diana is an absolute hoot as she marches around in skin-tight spandex, with big poofy hair and heavy makeup. Her I love. Marc Singer, the show's star, is better known as The Beastmaster.
View MoreI just happen to cross paths with this miniseries looking for something else, and I thought it would be amusing to read the reviews. And amusing it was, but in the wrong sense: turns out that most people think of it as one of TV's greatest masterpieces!!! I remember it as an over-sized turd. Primitive idea, appealing to our worst fears and prejudices (aliens might look good from the outside but actually they are cruel, ugly lizards). Stone faced acting. You-got-to-be-kidding plot twists. True, the first scenes looked decent, but the very moment some green lizard skin was exposed it became just another crappy TV laughing stock.Well, no wonder Hollywood suits can still pullout stinkers like Independence Day -if so many people think V was that great!
