It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Wow. Dr. Moe Lars because of his low marks and Dr. Pierce Able because of his bad credit rating from his compulsive Internet gambling. Auntie Mae Lars has run out of money from sending her nephew Dr. Moe Lars to dental school and now setting him up in a rundown warehouse. Dr. Pierce Able funds his gambling with a new city incentive to give free dental care to welfare and low-income patients behind his partners back.After an ad for after-hours sharing of the dental location brings a few legitimate dentists who, once they see the type of street clients and working conditions, run away. After sunset, Dr. Drek Vam Dent, smooth and cold-handed, arrives and takes the dark hours dental shift. A gang of shadow-walker vampires harasses Dr. Vam Dent as his good service attracts both good and bad vampires with all types of ailments.

Vampire Dentist is a movie that somehow had a decent idea executed really badly. Two dentists start working at a warehouse where they take patients in for appointments, while at the night, vampire dentists come in the night and turn the other patients into vampires, where they go out on the night to create a whole army of vampires. Nothing literally happens in Vampire Dentist as we recall that it goes like this: Patients come in, actors pull toilet humor, blue tinted footage of vampire attack actor, patients become vampires, vampires hang out. Wash, rinse, repeat. Not only is Vampire Dentist a big disappointment, it is a big bore fest as well. I thought after the 48 minutes we were gonna get some action, but basically what actually happens is vampires attack one or another and turn them into a vampire, and that's the whole film. The sets are ugly. Could they not pay for more rooms because the whole office is shoved in one big spot. There is almost no gore. This might be answered due to the movie's budget and that we were ripped off. Every thing is off screen so we never get to see any brutal violence, instead the actors pull cheap stunts for laughs and gags. Cut me a break. The vampires in this movie really have no personality, they all dress the same. There's a difference. There's this other vampire who appears randomly, and I was thinking to myself 'who is this guy and what is he doing here'? Don't get too excited. He has limited screen time and only appears to speak a few gibberish. Vampire Dentist may be considered the worst movie of all time, but I don't think I agree. I think it's the worst vampire film, period. Twilight is my most hated vampire movie, but I think this is way worse, although the special effects are okay for its budget, but sadly it doesn't do charm for this movie.

Unlike bottom-grade directors like Ulli Lommel or Ed Wood, Christine Whitlock has, somehow, flown under the radar without much infamy. However, with the three films she's now released ('Vampire Dentist' in addition to 'Sharp Teeth' and its semi-sequel 'Marina Monster'), she more than deserves to be included alongside the likes of Lommel as one of the worst working directors out there. Her films are, without a doubt, some of the worst made by someone with multi-film experience.The story follows a pair of dentists, Pierce & Moe, who allow a nighttime-only dentist by the name of Vam Dent (hardee har har) to use their office for overnight appointments. Soon, the patients who visit Dr. Dent mysteriously start turning into vampires. Eventually, Moe & Pierce decide to put a stop to the undead bloodsuckers before its too late.As many low-budget directors have discovered, horror-comedies are not as easy to make as they may seem. Now-successful directors like Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Spider-man) and Peter Jackson (Dead-Alive, Lord of the Rings) started their careers in independent horror-comedy films and helped to revolutionize the subgenre. Unfortunately, this also led to many horribly untalented directors to follow. The main reason it's so difficult to make a film like this is because it needs to not only satisfy horror elements (whether through gore, thrills, or legitimate scares), but also the comedy elements. Christine Whitlock's pathetic attempts satisfy nothing whatsoever except as a way to induce plenty of headaches.'Vampire Dentist' fails so miserably, mainly, because it fails in literally every technical aspect. The writing, direction, acting, cinematography, effects. . . all horrendous. Granted, Whitlock is clearly working with no budget whatsoever (who would risk any money on her talent?); but, after seeing films like 'Blair Witch' & 'Paranormal Activity' be hugely successful, there really is no excuse anymore.Perhaps the biggest downfall to this film is that it is supremely boring. While it is only a 93 minute film, it genuinely feels like it takes hours to get through. This is a hugely disastrous characteristic to have for a "horror-comedy" that is supposed to be fun & entertaining.Overall, this film has nothing going for it and should be avoided, just like the remainder of Whitlock's filmography.Final Verdict: 1/10.-AP3-
