Kyle Fisher has one last night to celebrate life as a single man before marrying Laura, so he sets out to Vegas with four of his best buddies. But a drug and alcohol filled night on the town with a stripper who goes all the way, turns into a cold night in the desert with shovels when the stripper goes all the way into a body bag after dying in their bathroom. And that's just the first of the bodies to pile up before Kyle can walk down the aisle...

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.

This runs like an Americanised version of SHALLOW GRAVE and received a lot of flak for the excessive gore, violence, and sick humour (me, I don't mind). However while I was at the cinema I found myself enjoying this one quite a bit. I'm a big fan of black comedy and this film hits just the right spot. Criticism was levelled at the actors who spend most of the film shouting or screaming their lines and it is certainly over the top, but this just adds to the fun. It's a violent, fast ride showing a spiral into madness and murder.Christian Slater has never been better as a psychotic, and here, he's an estate agent. Many people call him a Jack Nicholson-wannabe but I think he's good value here and elsewhere. The other notable name is Daniel Stern, an actor I have watched play nerds in 80's horror films to comedy losers in the '90s. He always gives a mugging, way OTT performance and this film is no exception. I almost see him as a comedy version of Bruce Campbell. The best bit in the film is where he goes mad at the service station and thinks everyone is watching him. The rest of the actors all look rather similar but it's worth watching just to see Slater and Stern. Cameron Diaz is the love interest, and she gets to broaden her talents. She's not really my sort of actress, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt in this case.VERY BAD THINGS is not the best film ever made, but if you're looking for action and violence mixed with sick comedy, then I recommend it. Interestingly, the director is Peter Berg, star of diverse things like SHOCKER and COP LAND. In my opinion, he does a good job here.

A prostitute (Kobe Tai) is killed during a bachelor party and the attendees turn on each other as the wedding approaches. This film came to my attention off a list of horror and thriller films. There is really nothing horror about it. But the thriller aspect? I can see that. The first twenty minutes or so I thought I had been duped because it seems like any other comedy, but it takes a dark turn. And that is a good thing! Not surprisingly, the evil member of the group of friends is Christian Slater. If he really killed a prostitute and hacked up the body in real life, I would not even be surprised. The film could do without Cameron Diaz, but at least her role is very secondary (or tertiary).

When I saw this movie, I had not heard anything about it. Christian Slater and Cameron Diaz were in it, so I figured "how bad can it be ?"And the result was... "very bad!" As in "when Im bad, Im better". This is a massacre movie. Hence, the chainsaw. It is a massacre of their lives, because of wrong decisions that anybody could make. This is what the movie is about. And it is scary, because it could be you or me in their shoes. Comedy ? If you like cynical or black humor, then yes it is. Otherwise, I doubt it will feel very funny. In all, this is one of the best movies I have ever seen, the ones that strike your mind and you never forget the blow.
