Just so...so bad
Don't listen to the negative reviews
Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
View MoreLet me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
View MoreThis isn't so much of a review as a correction. Correction of a mistake the writers and creative people behind the film never should have made.Walt and anyone that knew Walt would never say he came from "Kansas." Walt's character says more than once in the movie "I should return to Kansas." or "I had the same problem in Kansas." Walt would say Missouri. He lived and worked in Kansas City, MISSOURI, never Kansas. Someone from Missouri (as Walt was) would never go to Kansas City, Missouri and later just because the Missouri City has " Kansas" in it's name call it.. Kansas. There was and is a Kansas City Kansas. It is and was very small compared to Kansas City, Missouri. KC, Kansas is a bedroom community on the most part. A Missourian would never say they were from Kansas. As far as those of us in Kansas City, Missouri, we know it's the best city that is and all we need to make Missouri better is an ocean. Let's dig up Kansas and make one.
View MoreIf your interested in the negatives this movie has to offer listen to the other reviewers. In this movie you will find a man not unlike many of us who are goal afflicted people. Incapable of changing course in the good or bad; to aspire is within us because it is us. Riddled with our journey's ups and downs just like this Walt character. There was a strong connection I felt with this characters hard luck experiences bringing him to be the man deserving of his dreams.Pros: After watching you might have a restored amount of vigor to go get things done.Cons: Acting.
View MoreI love Disney and joy he has brought to the world and this film fails to capture any of the magic in any form. Poor casting for Walt and Roy. Ub Iwerks had a nickname of crazy hair (in this movie) but his hair was not crazy at all. Just awful doesn't sum it up enough. I have no idea how anyone not associated with the film gave this a positive review. Even if you look past the bad casting, horrific dialogue and stiff acting and just try and focus on the actual story..... Good luck actually following it. It's like they tried to literally include every chapter of the book in summary form and ignored flow and story. It's like 2 hours of shorts put together hoping to make a feature length movie. The film is also very dark visually, it's like.... what the hell. The Flashback scene to the Elias Disney (Who was a hard-ass) are amateur hour on display. the whole things JUST AWFUL - YUCK!!!!!Also, the real Walt Disney was 5'10" but somehow the director made Thomas Nichols look like midget throughout the entire film and especially standing next to the 6'1 Jon Heder. (Is Thomas Nicols that short? if so why the hell is he playing Walt Disney?I really wanted to like this film..... BUT IT SUCKS!!! HARD!!!
View MoreIt was somewhat interesting to learn of the struggles Walt Disney went through in his early life.It made me want to read more about the story. They made some interesting choices with casting. It's always good to learn about how people struggle before they become famous.Wholesome story. The sets and costumes looked very realistic for the vintage times.I learned quite a bit watching the movie. It would be nice to see a follow up movie and take up where they left off.I liked watching a good moral story such as this.
