I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
View MoreJust intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
View MoreExcellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
View MoreClose shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
View MoreWest Of Pinto Basin is where the Rangebusters, Dusty King, Ray Corrigan, and Max Terhune with the ever eloquent Elmer are answering a summons from a marshal friend of their's whom they find waylaid and shot to death on the road to town. Naturally the Rangebusters take over and see that justice is done. What the marshal was looking into was a series of stagecoach robberies where it is obvious that the bad guys are getting inside information. As this is a B western it isn't like we have a host of suspects. It's obvious who the rat is from the beginning. That however does not detract from the film which is a nice mixture of humor, action, and a song or two. Best part of the film is when Max Terhune goes out of his league with gambler Tris Coffin and winds up losing all the Rangebuster's horses. That soon gets put to rights with Corrigan sitting in on a new game.B western film fans should like this one.
