Stylish but barely mediocre overall

It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

1/5/18. A decent chick flick that requires you to only enjoy Faris in her quest for "the perfect one." Somewhat predictable but fun to watch. It definitely helped to have a lot of good looking guys running around with Evans being the major attraction. Catch it if you like chick flicks.

Nasty little film with a young girl asking others to write down the number of men they have slept with and finding out that research states that her next relationship, 20, shall be her last. The film's essential theme should have been how could I ignore the boy next door. That guy is something else with a different woman each day.Blythe Danner is her excitable mother in a totally unrewarding part. Long divorced from her husband, he shows up at his younger daughter's garden wedding and is pretty good on the dance floor. To me, the picture was tasteless and that you don't have to go very far in searching for love.

After reading some reviews and the trailer, I thought this movie would be a treat for me. Knowing Anna Faris is the lead and that it's categorized as comedy, I was hoping for at least as funny as My Super Ex-girlfriend, if not Scary Movie series. As I watched, there were some laughter and smiles. But slowly the sensation was being replaced with the feeling of disinterest. The story tried to be serious where it shouldn't be; the jokes become dry. I felt misled by the trailer and my own expectations of the movie. Especially that the other lead is the guy who plays in Not Another Teen Movie. After an hour, it became a chore instead of an entertainment. Thus, I stopped watching.

You may be thinking this is another typically romantic-comedy and you would be wrong. Yes it does have many laughs and just the right amount of romance. But it is for sure a great stay at home, rainy day, bag of popcorn movie kind of night.Anna Farris in my opinion is the reason to take the time to see the movie. She is fantastic and delivers everything you would come to expect from her and more. Definitely a film that will make you laugh and smile throughout. Chris Evans does play a good part in the film, not his best but good enough. Take the time to watch this film, you won't be sorry.
