Very well executed
Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??
It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
View MoreHallmark makes about 30 Christmas movies a year. None of them captures the magic this film has but then again, the talent in front of and behind the camera can never be matched. This film 4 singers find themselves in Vermont at Christmas ready to put on a show to save a resort. Not much of a story but it is lots of fun and has lots funny scenes and great singing and dancing. The older you are the more you will enjoy!
View MoreYou can argue about which version of "A Christmas Carol" you prefer, or if "A Christmas Story" beats out "Love, Actually" in the modern era, but this film hands down is the best Christmas musical by a long shot. Choreography unofficially by Bob Fosse, "The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing" with Kaye and Ellen is one of the best dance routines on film, period. Crosby, Clooney and ensemble deliver a sentimental treat throughout that still delivers today.
View MoreThere was probably no sweeter human to come out of 1950s Hollywood than Danny Kaye. And he put all his skills to use in this film along side Bing Crosby and Co. Never the less, it was still tough to get through. The neat thing is, is that I got to see it in an actual movie theater, as meant to be, I suppose. It's really a campy story - and if I'd been a studio Exec in 1953, and heard the Pitch, Synopsis and Scenario, I would not have green-lighted it at all! ha.Basically, a song-n-dance duo (Kaye/Crosby) meet two lovely sister who kinda do the same. Said sisters travel to VT for a gig, and the boys follow them all the way. Olny to get there and find out, that an old commanding general of theirs from WWII own the lodge where gig was at, and learn that the old man is in debt and about to lose everything. The two song-n-dance duos (with lots of lovin' and flirting in between) orchestrate a way to save the old fellow, and have a Merry Christmas together. Look for it on streaming services, but don't bother buying it. Let in run in the background at your family/friends xmas party, and everyone will enjoy the music!
View Morei think the directors should review the true meaning of the musical. performing on a stage is not musical. if that was true then walk the line should be a musical. a musical means that the conversations be in form of musics like the phantom of the opera by sir Andrew Lloyd Weber. this movie was so boring that i do not think it is even interesting for kids.... i am so sorry for those people who gave a good point for this movie and then the Moulin rouge! should have a the same point!!!! what do you people use as a criterion for giving points? nothing in this production was OK... watch phantom of the opera, moulin rouge!, the king and i, Funny Girl, My fair lady, the sound of music and musicals like this so you can under stand the meaning of the musical. And for the love of god please be fair with giving points to these movies...
