A Disappointing Continuation
This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.
View MoreThe film was still a fun one that will make you laugh and have you leaving the theater feeling like you just stole something valuable and got away with it.
View MoreI think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
View MoreI watched this movie with my wife and we both loved it There are hidden messages within the movie that have a deep impact of the viewer providing they take the time to look at it Been married for over 40 years it is easy to see how a husband and wife can drift apart if one or ether partner move away from each other physically and mentally It's the story of a couple who have drifted away from each other because the small things no longer attract them to each other It's the story of them finding each other and discovering that the small things they have forgotten are the very things that brought them together As soon as husband and wife move into separate rooms the deterioration of the marriage starts And that is the tragedy of the situation It takes the determination of the children to show their parents that they love each other and that they don't want their parents to separate As soon as people stop telling each other that they are grateful for having them in their lives relationships deteriorate We have a policy of never going to bed cross with each other Even if we have to stay up the whole night making up we do That's why we have lasted for so long Expressing love for each other and supporting each other is vitally important in any relationship This is the basis of this movie It's a story of basics lost and rediscovered A film well worth watching
View MoreWow, that's all I have to say about this movie. That's not a good wow either. I had to watch this is my high school family relations class last week. At first, I thought this was going to be a nice little family film that might even be enjoyable to watch. However, whatever message there is in this movie is lost by all the stupidity going on.The first thing that I noticed was the parents have grown apart because the husband doesn't laugh at her anymore? How about the fact that they hardly even speak and don't show any affection towards each other. Another thing is that African sounding girl the kids hang out with. How does she get the document approved and how is she conveniently at their house whenever they come home, does she hide in the bushes? Also, the youngest daughter could use some speech therapy classes and the son is pretty annoying as well. George Takei is a very strange choice for their family friend. He comes across as more of a slave than their friend. Wasn't he remodeling their whole house? In conclusion, this movie is drastically stupid. I know its basically a kids movie but its pretty sub-par even for oblivious children. Now, a movie like Home Alone is a family film but it actually has some substance. I would avoid this movie if your looking for entertainment, but you could rent it if you want to see how bad it is. My class and I had many a good laugh while watching it.
View MoreOkay, let me get this straight: an 11-year-old child, who is neither a lawyer nor a member of the family, approaches a judge with a totally bogus "legal document" asking that a family's house should be taken away from the legal owners and given to their pre-teen children. The judge obligingly approves this homemade "court order" despite the fact that no divorce papers have been filed and the parents are not even separated yet. The pre-teen kids then brazenly inform the parents that they have to take turns living in the house, Dad this week and Mom the next. The parents, being utter morons, obligingly accept this decree and move out without even consulting a lawyer. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? No, it doesn't. This movie is pure gibberish, and so squeaky-clean you want to slap the characters. Good for an incredulous laugh, but that's about it.
View More"who Gets the House" was a fairly good movie. It had a wonderful cast including many canadian actors/actresses. It had a good story to it and was worth the watch. It was more a childrens movie, but id say anyone can really sit down and enjoy it. It also delivers a message about parents who seperate. I give this movie 7/10.
