Very Cool!!!
It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
View MoreThere is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
View MoreIf this was a straight up horror film, based on it's own merits, then this could have been one of the stand out horror films of the year, but instead, the makers decided to exploit such a sadistic crime just to sell a few more tickets, and it really taints an otherwise solid movie...Four friends gather at an elegant home during the Summer of 1969. Unbeknown to them, visitors are waiting outside. What begins as a simple party turns to a night of terror as the intruders torment the four, who fight for their lives against what appears to be a senseless attack from brainwashed disciples......Take away all the Manson references, and the awful tacked on 'based on a true story' epilogue, and you have as I've already stated, a solid little horror film that has some wonderful camera-work, and quite hilarious performances from the make members of the cast. But the camera work is the essence of the film, and the timing of the shots relies heavily on the original Halloween and some other choice horror films that caused the resurgence of the slasher genre in the late nineties. It's not necessarily a grisly piece of film making, but the fact that the main character is close to birth, really does give the film a nasty edge that isn't needed, because the mise en scene does enough to give the film the intensity it deserves. My advice is, forget that the film is influenced by abhorrent events, and as soon as the film proper fades to black, switch it off, and treat it like a piece of cheap b movie horror and nothing else.
View MoreFour friends gather at an elegant home during the Summer of Love, 1969. Unbeknownst to them, deadly visitors are waiting outside. What begins as a simple farewell party turns to a night of primal terror as the intruders stalk and torment the four, who struggle for their lives against what appears to be a senseless attack. The only good thing about 'Wolves at the Door' is easily Katie Cassidy and Elizabeth Henstridge they were the only 2 characters that i wanted to survive plus i really love them in Arrow and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D but that is where the good stuff end and the bad start first of all the movie is boring, 2nd of all i couldn't seen what the hell was going on since it was always so damn dark and 3rd of all the actual story is disgusting and retarded people like the Mansons shouldn't even exist i don't know where to even begin to describe you how awful this movie is from the supporting characters? to even the Ending it self. (2/10)
View More"Wolves at the Door" is a boring and shallow slasher with no storyline or character development. The screenplay instead of build tension, is boredom. In 1969 in California, a family is disturbed by a group that breaks in their house. Later four friends celebrate the farewell of one of them to Boston. Out of the blue, two men and two women break in their compound and they are murdered, one by one. Who are they, killers and victims? The viewer will learn in the beginning of the credits only. Don't waste your time watching this flick is the best anyone can do. My vote is two.Title (Brazil): Not Available
View MoreYou could have 2 different directions if you were going to make a film about the Manson murders of 1969, documentary style or a straight drama. In either of those cases though, you should at the very least have the integrity to acknowledge and address the actual subject matter that you are filming. This was NOT a movie inspired by, it was a melodrama about the ACTUAL people who died in that horrible event. The makers of this film though refused to even acknowledge this fact while only inserting hints or references about it. But then they named all the characters the same as those killed that night. Even right down to a pregnant "Sharon"I'm not sure all the reasons behind such a ridiculous decision, my guess it was fear of repercussions, whether legal or financially from actual family members and decedents of those who lost their lives. I gave it a 2 because I will not reward gutless film making with anything higher.. .
