Truly Dreadful Film

Brendon Jones

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.

this movie is 1/4 '21 grams', 1/2 'inland empire', 1/3 'two moon junction', and another 81% of 'pump up the volume'!!! a semi-truck armed to the teeth with machine-gun toting babes barrels through LA while a beatnik, pirate radio DJ (who's blind!!!) spins yarns about, in no particular order, a soft-core actor squeezing lotion over some boobs, a 'beautiful Asian man' engaging in the most poorly choreographed knife-fight i've ever seen, and the time a man was accosted in a public restroom by some girls who wanted nothing more than to shave his bare ass oh so sensually. oh, and there's a yodeling interlude. i swear to god i'm not making this up.i've seen this movie twice now, and i'm still not sure if it's the worst movie i've ever seen or the greatest artistic statement of the 21st century. flash-forwards, flashbacks, intertwining monologues... you keep waiting for it to somehow add up, but it never does! is this the result of poor screen writing or a tacit statement about the phantasm of consciousness in a post-modern, technologically driven world? hell if i know! boobies!

If you desire the philosophy and run-on sentences typical of Zalman King flicks, then this movie will likely be a powerful indulgence of that desire. If you want to see beautiful women, then this movie is a good one. If you expect to see naked women typical of Zalman King flicks, then this movie will disappoint you.The majority of the movie consists of dribble from a couple of woman radio personalities. It is provided in the low, mildly delimited run-on sentences that I have difficulty concentrating on. Many of the women are very pretty, especially the immensely sexy Jaqueline Lovell, but guys are not likely to see them the way they expect to considering this is a Zalman King flick.

This is an excellent movie with great entertainment value. When I saw it recently on Television I was riveted by its haunting melody and compelling content. The actresses were believable and great in the execution of their craft. MS Shawnee William Free Jones especially has a beautiful delivery which kept me in my chair. I recommend this movie to anyone.

Boring. Even for fans of Zalman King's earlier works, this film might be hard to swallow. You have the usual amount of gratuitous sex and nudity, but it's cobbled together behind a strange story of a young girl's druglord family, who grows up to be a blind, pirate radio hostess, telling stories about sex and intrigue. However, logic holes abound. For one thing, her story-telling follows a beatnik rhythm that, without the video portion, would not make much sense so the only people listening would be insomniacs or those infatuated with her voice. Also, scenes flash and scream, reminiscent of X-Files or Millennium, adding a very unsettling quality to the imagery. This is a total turn-off because you think less about whether a couple would get together, but whether they would be hideously murdered somehow. The stories don't really follow each other and just end and begin suddenly, with each lasting maybe 12 minutes or so.Eric Clapton is known as "slow hands", and Zalman King could be called that as well, except for one important point: Eric Clapton writes good songs.
