Elimination Chamber (2010) was a PPV which took place on February 21, 2010 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. It was the first Elimination Chamber event. The concept of the event was that the two main event matches would occur in an Elimination Chamber. Each match featured six competitors: the defending champion and five challengers. Sheamus defended the WWE Championship against Triple H, Ted DiBiase, Randy Orton, John Cena, and Kofi Kingston in the Raw Elimination Chamber. In the SmackDown Elimination Chamber match, The Undertaker defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Chris Jericho, John Morrison, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk and R-Truth. On the undercard, Drew McIntyre defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Kane, The Miz defended the WWE United States Championship against Montel Vontavious Porter, and Maryse and Gail Kim competed against Team Lay-Cool (Layla and Michelle McCool) in an interbrand Divas tag team match.

one of my absolute favorites!

Excellent, Without a doubt!!

TrueHello

Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

The other reviewers have already described the matches of this PPV in detail, so I will try to give a more general picture. The PPV opens with an Elimination Chamber match; now, there seems to be a widely held belief that an Elimination Chamber match is automatically great, but this one is, truth be told, pretty average. The winner is forced into a second "match" that is under a minute long, and is really more of a storyline push. The match for the Intercontinental Title is mediocre, the women's match is a non-starter (though Maryse makes a good "bad" girl), the match for the US Title is indifferent. Finally we get some good action in the second Elimination Chamber match, mostly thanks to the always-entertaining Rey Mysterio, the strong showings of Chris Jericho and John Morrison, Undertaker's imposing presence, and a surprising ending. Before this main event, "Elimination Chamber 2010" seemed destined to be forgotten quickly. **1/2 out of 4.

WWE's first annual Elimination Chamber event was held February 21, 2010 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.Match 1: Sheamus (c) vs. Triple H vs. John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Kofi Kingston in an Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship - Solid opening match for the show. The work done in the ring was very well done and none of the performers seemed to get lazy during the match. Cody Rhodes assists Ted DiBiase in elimination Orton. DiBiase is then second to be eliminated by Kofi Kingston. The Champion, Sheamus, then takes Kingston out of the match. Just when you think Sheamus will retain, Triple H lands a pedigree and eliminates him. Now it is down to two former World Champions in Cena and Triple H. Cena is able to make Triple H tap out in the end and he becomes an eight time World Champion.Match 2: John Cena (c) vs. Batista for the WWE Championship - Mr. McMahon comes out to congratulate Cena and throw him into an unannounced title defense against Batista. Nearly 30 seconds after the bell rings, Batista is your new WWE Champion. I found this to be a brilliant move.Match 3: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Kane for the Intercontinental Championship - A basic time filler for the event. Kane really deserves better than he gets. I would call this match lackluster at best, McIntyre is still developing his skills as we speak and he just doesn't have "it" yet. In the end he hits his finisher on Kane to retain the title.Match 4: Team LayCool (Michelle McCool & Layla) vs. Gail Kim & Maryse - Not a very good match. The women were extremely pleasing to look at, don't get me wrong, but the quality of the match was weak. They really should have just went ahead with the scheduled Divas Championship match. Instead Michelle McCool and Layla pick up the win in this tag team match.Match 5: The Miz (c) vs. Montel Vontavious Porter for the United States Championship - Very strong match. A lot better than their encounter at the Royal Rumble a month earlier. Overall I enjoyed the match for what it was. The Miz has really shined as a singles competitor since joining Raw last year. MVP has also done a fair job of making himself a recognizable fan favorite. The addition of Big Show and Mark Henry at ringside played a great factor, especially with Show tossing Henry through the ringside barrier. In the end Miz picks up the win and retains the title with help from the Big Show.Match 6: The Undertaker (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. John Morrison vs. Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk vs. R-Truth in an Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Championship - Fantastic main event. The better of the two Chamber Matches. CM Punk starts it out with R-Truth. Truth is quickly eliminated, as Punk then grabs a microphone to fill time with one of his Straightedge promos. Mysterio then enters the match and brawls with Punk briefly. As soon as you know it, Mysterio eliminates Punk. John Morrison, Chris Jericho and The Undertaker all enter into the match respectively. Morrison is able to take out Mysterio with his Starship Pain. The Undertaker then disposes of Morrison after a chokeslam on the steel floor. Jericho and The Undertaker finish off the match with a brilliant encounter. Shawn Michaels appears from under the steel floor in the end and gives Undertaker the superkick. Jericho picks up the scraps and pins Undertaker to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
