Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
View MoreIt's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
View MoreJust intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

View MoreOrlando Jordan vs Chris Benoit (US title)A remarkable opening and easily the quickest match you will ever see and it was actually rather funny to. 8/10Matt Hardy vs EdgeThe build up to this was very good with the real life occurrences between Lita and Edge and we see the animosity all the way through a, once more, very short encounter. Thankfully the cage match at Unforgiven was great for retribution 8/10Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero This ladder match for the custody of Eddie's "biological" son had some great swings and moves, particularly from the late Guerrero who always shone as a heel. Ending was obvious though 8/10Eugene vs Kurt AngleSeeing wrestlers like Eugene and Hornswoggle makes me despise the company today and this is why. Eugene uses no original move and thankfully Angle shows why he is the best wrestler, and performer, of all time. 6/10Undertaker vs Randy OrtonWrestlemania rematch was all guns blazing as Orton tried to scamper numerous times and the Undertaker is never, in his whole career, boring. The ending was quite shocking to 8/10Batista vs JBL (No holds barred world title match)Brutal fist fights and a powerbomb of a climax but this was surprisingly exceptionally short and rather forgettable. 5/10John Cena vs Chris JerichoThis match has the most ridiculous outcome imaginable. Jericho, in arguably his most dominant performance in his career, is in cruise control and high flying entertaining action. Cena seriously hits about 3 big moves, this is all Y2J. Great atmosphere here as half the crowd chant "Let's go Cena" then the others chant "Let's go Jericho" 8/10Hulk Hogan vs Shawn MichaelsA reasonable climax. Given the build up and terms and everything involved it boiled down to some risky moments involving chairs, low blows etc. Hogan bleeds profusely pretty much all the way through. There was only ever going to be one ending. 7/10A very good consistent PPV with many surprises, none bigger than the first match but certainly worth checking out.
View MoreMatch 1: Orlando Jordan (c) vs Chris Benoit for the United States Championship - This was unexpected. It was nice to see Benoit regain the title, but it made it seem as though all those months that Orlando had the title were just a simple fluke. Benoit makes Orlando tap in 25 seconds. New record, new Champion.Match 2: Edge vs Matt Hardy - Excellent stuff. You could see that these two truly hated each other. Matt Hardy was back and out for blood against Edge, who stole his girlfriend Lita. Even though Hardy had a tremendous comeback he still took the backseat to Edge, when the referee stopped the match and named Edge as the winner.Match 3: Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio in a Ladder match for Custody of Dominick - The storyline was a little nuts even for WWE standards, but the Ladder match was an all around battle to the finish. The whole reality base between both families kept it a little more interesting, but the match was a fantastic encounter from these two old friends once again. In the end Rey does keep the custody of his son and lays the whole ordeal with him and Eddie to rest.Match 4: Kurt Angle vs Eugene - The whole Eugene gimmick really died down several months after he arrived in WWE. Nick Dinsmore on his own is a great wrestler, but when they portray him as Eugene it kills his career opportunities. This is basically a Kurt Angle squash match. After losing his Gold Medals to Eugene, Angle is back for the Medals and out to hurt Eugene. Angle takes the win and dominates doing it.Match 5: Randy Orton vs Undertaker - Entertaining battle once again from both of these former World Champions. The score going into this match was 1-0, with Undertaker scoring the win in the first encounter at Wrestlemania earlier that year. That all was changed with a little help from Randy's father Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. With some assistance from his dad Randy Orton was able to beat the Undertaker at Summerslam.Match 6: John Cena (c) vs Chris Jericho for the WWE Champinship - The crowd was a little dead for this one. The match was alright from both of these two. Cena pretty much walked in that day knowing he would retain once more. Jericho put up a valiant effort against John Cena because the title was at stake. The whole rivalry between these two never really builded two a huge climax. The whole thing ends with Cena nailing an FU on Jericho to retain his title.Match 7: Batista (c) vs JBL in a No Holds Barred match for the World Heavyweight Championship - A pretty decent SmackDown main event for the title. JBL does a lot better as a hardcore wrestler than as a regular wrestler. Batista dominates the whole match with his overpowering champion persona. In the end he Batista Bombs JBL onto the steel steps to retain. A short match with a pretty good ending.Match 8: Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan - The most anticipated match of the evening. An incredible encounter from the Legend and the Icon. The first ever meeting between these two was one of the greatest matches of the night. Michaels beat the hell out of Hogan the entire match, he even started bleeding. Hogan then did his signature Hulking up motion and nailed the big boot and leg drop. This lead en route to Hulk Hogan sealing the deal and defeating Shawn Michaels in the main event of Summerslam. Fantastic main event.
View MoreHulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels - The start of this match was fun, as hard as it is to believe HBK being in control made this hard to watch.WWE Championship: John Cena vs. Chris Jericho - The crowd being split is what made this match enjoyable.World Championship: Batista vs. JBL - This being kept short and the No Holds Barred rules helped this match a lot.Matt Hardy vs. Edge - Way too short for Hardys return but the ending was unpredictable.Randy Orton vs. Undertaker - On par with their Wrestlemania matchEugene vs. Kurt Angle - Angle being so intense really added to this match. I loved his celebration at the end.Ladder Match: Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio U.S. Championship:Orlando Jordan vs Chris Beniot - This was really really short but after their Great American Bash match you can see why.Fantastic show overall.
View MoreGood grief! McMahon has done it again! This PPV is in the excellence package along with earlier PPV's like One Night Stand, Judgment Day and Vengeance. This event drew 570,000 buys! In my opinion it had the Summerslam feel to it.Results from the show: Rey Mysterio defeated Eddie Guerrero in a cracker ladder match. However this storyline has ran its course and it should end right now!Chris Benoit beat Orlando Jordan in 25 seconds to win the US title.Edge beat Matt Hardy in a wild short match which featured Hardy splitting his head open.Batista defeated John 'Bradshaw' Layfield in a good match. Way better than their sh*te match at Great American Bash. JBL really suffers here as Batty powerbombs him through the steps! Kurt Angle defeated Eugene. Hey, did anyone else think that Eugene would win?! John Cena beat Chris Jericho to retain the Heavyweight Championship in a very good match! Yes, Cena was in a good match!Randy Orton pinned The Undertaker with help from his ole fella 'Cowboy' Bob Orton.Hulk Hogan pinned Shawn Michaels. OK, this wasn't going to be a Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle technical masterpiece, but fans were eager to see this match happen because it hadn't been done before. The only disappointments were Shelton Benjamin or Christian were not used on the card, but those details aside, a solid effort! Overall Grade - A
