Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

Wrestlemania 17 was awesome! WM17 was the first WrestleMania held in the state of Texas and the first at the Reliant Astrodome in Houston, Texas. It was also the first time in 9 years that World Wrestling Federation sold out a stadium and the last under World Wrestling Federation company name, as the company would be renamed World Wrestling Entertainment due to legal problems with the World Wide Fund in 2002. The event broke all-time attendance records and also became one of WWE highest grossing PPV at the time. The opening video package to this PPV was pretty awkward, but kinda interesting, as it showcase people from all over the world listening or watching Wrestlemanias of the past 16 years. The video doesn't make a lick of sense, seeing how most of these people feature for this video doesn't look like the normal wrestling fans at all. There's a lots of old farm people watching this PPV radios or small television in horse stables, barns, and hay-houses. Who watch wrestling in a barn!? Even the young people that looks like wrestling fans, look awkward, by watching the PPV in an old car or a shop window. Then you got poor foreigners running in the fields, listen to it on radio, despite the PPV never being broadcast on Indian radio. If that was cheesy enough, there is an old Chinese man in a fish market who happens to be watching one of the worst PPVs in the world, Wrestlemania 9. I really doubt, my Asian grandpa knows what pro-wrestling is or care about it. The worst had to be the oddly place smiling clown toward the end as if this was a joke. Then the video ends with the saying that Wrestlemania is supposedly a celebration of life. What!? No, marriage is a celebration of life! Giving birth is a celebration of life! Wrestlemania is nowhere near those levels. Anyways, the video package is shot really good, had big production values, with inspiration music and really good narrating by wrestler Hall of famer, Freddie Blassie. WWE's production team did wonders with it. It's hard not to feel hype for the PPV. The theme song to Wrestlemania 'My Way' by Limp Bizkit match the tone of the big fight night feel. While, I'm not a huge fan of Limp Bizkit, I found this song great to listen to. The commentary by Paul Heyman and Jim Ross was amazing to listen to all night as both really shine here. Heyman joined the WWE shortly after the fall of Extreme Championship Wrestling as a replacement for Color commentator Jerry Lawler whom left a few weeks earlier due to a dispute with the WWF with the mis-treatment of his then-girlfriend, Kat (Stacey Carter). The opening match to the PPV was William Regal VS Chris Jericho is for the Intercontinental title. The buildup to this match, featured a guy peeing in another man tea, and also a clown. Only here in the WWF would it make sense. Great opening match -Decent, but short opener. They did as much as they could in 7 minutes and Jericho sold the hell out of the shoulder throughout. The next match was Right to Censor (w/ Steven Richards) (In their last match as a group) vs. The APA (w/ Jackie) and Tazz. Match is really forgettable. WWF Hardcore Title: Raven © vs. Kane vs. The Big Show is next. Great brawl that mostly spill outside the ring. It probably suck to watch this at the stadium since most of the match was backstage, but on TV, it was really good stunt match. WWF European Title: Test © vs. Eddie Guerrero (w/ Perry Saturn) was just disappointing, as both really mess up and botch most of the moves. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit was next. Awesome match here with a crappy ending. It's good, but not as good as their match at the 2003 Royal Rumble. WWF Woman's Title: Ivory vs. Chyna was next. They had a storyline of Chyna getting her neck broken by RTC that they could had use more in match storyline, but the match was just one-sided squash match. Disappointing. Street Fight: Vince McMahon (w/ Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley) vs. Shane McMahon with Mick Foley is your special ref for this one. This storyline had Vince keeping his wife, Linda sedate, so he can sleep around with Trish Stratus, while Shane McMahon took offend of. The storyline add more gasoline to the fire, when Shane went to buy the WWF's rival promotion at the time, WCW from under his dad's nose just 6 days earlier. This may actually be the best storyline involving the McMahon's ever and the match was pretty damn awesome, for two non-action wrestlers. Overbooked as hell, but they tied up quite a few story lines with it, and gave us a match with a lot of memorable moments. TLC II: WWF Tag Titles: The Dudley Boyz © vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. Edge and Christian was next. It was a really dangerous match that you can't believe your eyes that these 6 men really pull it off. Gimmick Battle Royal was next. Nice to see a lot of late 1980s and early 1990s wrestlers return for this gig. Nostalgia feel right there. Harmless fun. We get a video recap of the HHH/Taker feud. Nice to see the heavy metal band, Motorhead plays their version of HHH's them as he heads to the ring. Taker was still in his biker phase, had a great entrance. The build to this was pretty good actually, but not as good as their later Wrestlemania feud in the 2011/2012. The main event hype for Austin/Rock II was great. It was just an epic, kick ass brawl with one of the hottest crowds you will ever see with a twist ending you didn't see coming. Overall: It's clearly is one of the greatest WrestleMania, and it gets for vote for it.

This was honestly one of the better Wrestlemania events in a long time.Match 1: Chris Jericho (c) vs William Regal for the Intercontinental Championship - This feud was one of the more entertaining feuds in 2001. This match was an impressive opener for WWE's secondary championship. Jericho had all the momentum in this particular match and it all really carried him to retaining the title. Decent match.Match 2: Tazz & The APA vs The Right to Censor - Just a time filler. The concept of making sure everyone gets time at the biggest event of all time is a nice concept, but this would have been more a Sunday Night Heat match. Tazz & The APA take the win.Match 3: Raven (c) vs Kane vs Big Show in a Triple Threat Hardcore match for the Hardcore Championship - One of the more extreme matches of the night. Raven does all he can to retain (you hear this a lot in Heyman's commentary). The match is a solid falls count anywhere war for the Hardcore title. Big Show and Kane dominate Raven and each other the entire time. In the end Kane throws both men off the stage to win the title.Match 4: Test (c) vs Eddie Guerrero for the European Championship - The European Championship is always booked a little higher than the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania for some reason, but this was actually a very good title match for the mid-card. Test fends off attacks from Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko most of the match, while maintaning to defend against Guerrero. In the end the distractions pay off when Guerrero hits Test with the belt to begin his second run as European Champion.Match 5: Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit - Next to the main event this was a match of the night candidate. Benoit and Angle look to lock on every single submission in the universe. The two have this epic battle that is Wrestlemania worthy. Angle and Benoit both come out as heels in this feud, even though most side over with Benoit. The match turns out very well. In the end Angle gets the win. Benoit chases him to the back and locks on the crossface for payback.Match 6: Ivory (c) vs Chyna for the Women's Championship - Absolute squash match. Chyna comes out and tosses Ivory around, finally scoring the win and earning her first Women's title.Match 7: Shane McMahon vs Vince McMahon in a Street Fight - Mick Foley plays the unbiased turned biased referee in this match. A very hardcore war between both father and son. The whole story line was the higher rated segment of the show. Vince beats his son with Linda at ringside. In the end she raises from her chair and hits a low blow on Vince. Shane then takes off from this and gets the win over his dad.Match 8: The Dudley Boyz (c) vs Edge & Christian vs The Hardy Boyz in the TLC II match for the WWF Tag Team Championship - A pretty good spotfest. Tons of tables, ladders and chairs in the match. It started pretty fast with a lot of good spots. The spear in mid air from Edge to Jeff Hardy was the best of the match. Jeff Hardy as well took the match to incredible heights with his daredevil attitude. Spike Dudley, Rhino and Lita all interfere for their respective teams. In the end Edge & Christian, with help from Rhino, win the tag gold again.Match 9: Gimmick Battle Royal - Entertaining match. The Iron Sheik wins by lastly eliminating Hillbilly Jim. Sgt. Slaughter locks on his submission to restore his rivalry with the Sheik. Classic stuff.Match 10: Triple H vs The Undertaker - The first meeting between these two main event caliber stars. They went all through the crowd and hit each other with a ton of weapons while the referee was down. Triple H makes you think that he is clearly on the road to ending Taker's streak, but it all comes to a head when Undertaker hits the Last Ride for the win and to extend his Wrestlemania win streak. Excellent match.Match 11: The Rock (c) vs Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Championship - The greatest encounter of the night. These two always put on a top form match against each other. With the no disqualification rules they take it to one another with every inch of weapon that they can find. In the end Vince McMahon comes out and when you wonder why he is out there you suddenly see him align himself with his longtime enemy Stone Cold Steve Austin. They beat down the Rock and Stone Cold finally regains the WWF Championship.

This Wrestlemania was enjoyable from start to finish, brilliant matches all the way.All of the title matches were amazing, good work rate from everyone on the card.Best match was Tlc 2 with some brilliant high spots and i just love watching Jeff Hardy in action. 9/10The hardcore title match despite messing up a few times was funny to watch if for the wrong reasons some good spots here; raven being thrown through a window was my personal favourite. 8/10Angle vs Beniot always good anytime any place, excellent efforts from both men. 9/10Intercontinental match pretty good Jericho needs to be main event tho, i always enjoy watching Regal. 6/10European title match was OK, the interference was a bit ott though. 6/10RTC vs acolytes and tazz: this one was good it was just there so rtc could get its ass kicked to the delight of the crowd, reminds me of how good Tazz was. 5/10Womens title match see above, Chyna dominated, not very eventful match. 2/10Gimmick Battle royal it was OK, though i feel these kind of matches ruin the greats, i'm always up for over the top rope stuff tho. 5/10McMahon street fight: very good shane should have become a wwe superstar he never fails to impress me, i'm always amazed as to how huge vince is as well. 7/10Triple H vs Taker: another excellent match ref stayed down for ages it is amusing wen you think how much he missed. 7/10World title match: was just brilliant it reminds you how good Rock and Austin were; if anyone else were to kick out as much nowadays the crowd would get bored, not in this match though. 9/10

Wrestlemania X-7 live in Houston, Texas. Where do i start? you have 6 of the greatest WWE stars in history squaring off in 3 classic matches. Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle, the best match of the night in my view. Two very technichl wrestlers fighting back and forth back and forth. Undertaker vs HHH, the Taker holding a perfect 9-0 record in Wrestlemania's looking at a very tough task in "The Game" HHH, but luckily holding on to the match and winning. and the main event the WWE Title match between The Rock and the most famous superstar in history Stone Cold Steve Austin, in an instant classic Austin won the match to put his record at 2-0 vs the Rock at Wrestlemania's (The other win came at Wrestlemania XV) but the outcome was shocking, Stone Cold would join forces with Vince Mcmahon. Wrestlemania X-7 scores a perfect 10 in my book. Wrestlemania X-7 will never be pushed out of the thrown as "The Greatest Wrestlemania EVER", well at least thats my opinion.
