    Very Cool!!!

    Good concept, poorly executed.

    Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

    The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

    I wanted to like this show, after all, I'm a conservative who loves old fashioned shows like little house, the waltons, etc... The first season was OK, kinda lame at times though, like a little too brady bunch for me. But as i got into the second season, i was like, what kind of conservative family is this? Talking about "the universe" like new age stuff. The universe was created by god, the universe itself is not god!! Then the middle daughter meditating with her fingertips together. Then the episodes were starting to get preachy, not preachy as in religion, but preachy as in leftist politics.... Ummm isn't this supposed to be a conservative right-wing show??? It was like a bait and switch, or a mockery or something, but even though i had all the dvds, i stopped watching them... I don't need to be mocked, i get enough of that in real life!!! No thank you!!! Im mad that it was presented as a conservative Christian show! If i had kids, i would've let my kids watch this show thinking it was supportive of my views, but in fact, its Christian bashing!!! Junk!!

    This is a reaction to all the horrible reviews on this site. If you're watching this show for "gripping drama" or a realistic portrayal of modern family life, you are doing it wrong. Watch it as the comedy that it is and you will have unlimited joy and pleasure from these 11 seasons of gold. After I watched the weed episode in season 2, I was hooked. It scratches an itch that I didn't know I had! Bravo!

    This show has been a real source of healing for me. I grew up in a highly abusive household, particularly emotionally so. The parents in this show set a healthy set of boundaries, and do their best to enforce them via relationship. You can see the parents struggling through their own imperfections to parent, but deal with them honestly the best they can. When their own "honesty" isn't so honest, it's usually brought to light, sometimes over a period of time.I don't find it "religious" at all, as other reviewers have commented. Religion suggests a set of rules, regulations, without relationship. This show has relationship to the hilt. Sometimes the parents are overly involved with what their kids are doing. I wish my parents had been more interested; the only way they were was to find out what I was doing "wrong", and never failed to tell me how bad I was. These parents do it primarily out of concern and love. It does get addressed by the kids when the parents are sometimes overly so, etc. and the parents were usually able to hear what the kids were saying, so I see the dynamics of healthy relationships. One trademark of health in a person is the ability to say "I'm sorry", and/or "I was wrong" - you see this over and over here. It was totally refreshing. It's the parents' jobs to install morals in children. The trick is to do it as honestly as possible with the willingness to admit your own faults; and this show does it beautifully. Neither the kids nor the parents were perfect, and I found that refreshing. You can see by the longevity of the show that it was a terrific one. It's served to give me the parenting I always needed in a terribly imperfect world.

    why do we have to make some shows like this?? i mean the REALLY life isn't like this!! Okay I leave in Switzerland and here it's absolutely normal to see drunk children everywhere I've also been drunk a few times and i smoke sometimes... So what?? Are we supposed to be the devil or I don't know what...I have some friends who have some huge problems with their parents and they are always under drug. THIS is sad and it is the reality not like this stupid show who shows that the entirely world is wonderful because everything has a happy ending!!! However I respect the religion, I'm American too but just can't stand 7th heaven ! I watch sometimes some episodes but just for laughing and for no other reasons!! sorry for my bad English...
