One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

As a Bible believing Christian, I enjoyed the series but was disappointed to see so many things portrayed differently than in the Bible. Probably because of political correctness sake, the apostle John is played by a great big African. That is fundamentally so untrue. They were all Jews, not Africans. John was a fisherman, son of a Jewish fisherman. Mary Magdalene black? No she was a woman from the village/town Magdala - solid Jewishness. But there again, I understand that the production was from a Catholic point of view. Catholics do not believe in the Bible as the sole source of God's Word. They use what is of advantage to them and the rest they ignore. But there again, I am thankful that at least it's probably the best Christian-themed series out there... So, all in all 7/10.

Loved it. I watched season 1 in two days and I am so grateful for these producers for having the guts to create something that for the most part sticks closely to the biblical account. Of course they have taken artistic license in some places but the important elements are all there. I would watch a 2nd season and a third and more. The plight of the Apostles is unknown to me as I stopped reading scripture a while back but this has ignited my interest in picking up my King James Version and reading it again.Even for agnostics and those that just like a good story, this series does not disappoint. There may be no hope for the atheists though, I think this film would just irritate them as anything to do with faith does. But for the rest of us, I think this should be picked up by another network and continue... PLEASE.

Though there are some inaccuracies with respect to the authentic biblical account of the Book of Acts, the series is a good watch. I found the Drama well acted and intense, keeping me on the edge of my proverbial seat, spurring me to keep on watching. There is artistic licence which I do not totally agree with, like some of the interpretations of the characters, but if one reminds oneself that it is, after all, dramatised artistic licence that we are dealing with, one can overlook the inconsistencies without becoming overly frustrated or disappointed. Yes, the way some of the scenes were interpreted left me feeling a little bit betrayed due to their inconsistent irreverence with respect to the authentic biblical account, but having said that, I have nevertheless still enjoyed the series.

    1. the actor/or actors use foul language , 2. bloody and more violence /killing 3. sex bodies /lusts of the body 4. some of the story is inaccurate /not 100% correct, like most films, series ,episodes .5 the actors -playing the disciples in the film talk rudely and not humble -holy saints godly people which is a big turn off and fake Christians, reminds me of the false Christianity -false Christians of today and in the past times all coming in Jesus name or god calling him lord or calling on god's name which they are not part of the true church . makes me sick . although their is bad parts and inaccurate in A.D THE BIBLE CONTINUES. i still watched the episodes because i like the story of Jesus Christ and his disciples and the preaching .
