The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

Just watched season 1, and I am blown away. With the characters, their development, the story, the themes of racism, inequality, drugs, the criminal system and the injustice of it all, of life. Strongly recommended!

Just two episodes in, and I am hooked and heart-broken again. I just keep thinking "this is all around us, this is all around us." The strawberries that we ate for dinner? And the low cost hotel I drive by on the way to work..what's happening in those fields and rooms?The new members of the cast are as strong as the old. I feel that the issues that American Crime addresses this season are wider-reaching, yet personal at the same time.It's hard to watch bright and shiny commercials during the show - a weird juxtaposition.

How ironic that this season's topic is regarding one of the most controversial issues of the day: immigration. The show plans to approach it from several different angles, especially immigrants who come to the U.S from Mexico to work on farms throughout the country. It will focus in-depth on the lives of those people, what their effect is on the economy, and how farms must use their cheap labor in order to keep prices competitive...or will fail. As well, it addresses another tragic issue of our day: human trafficking.Although it's an entirely new cast of characters this season, you'll recognize a few familiar faces playing them along with some talented new additions. "American Crime" might be the first prime-time drama to address life in a 'Trump America'. While most of the show was probably written and filmed before he became President, I think it's safe to assume it will address issues such as "the wall", both forced and self deportation, etc. This show was always great, but it will be even more interesting now to see how they will have 'art imitating life'.

Being an ABC series I didn't have high hopes for this one. I only saw season one yet, but if I have to be honest it was entertaining. It's not the best crime drama I ever saw but it's certainly worth a watch. Even though there are a couple characters and/or actors that I don't really like the rest of the cast is okay. At one point they started too much focusing on religion and that was not a good way to go to. Racism and religions are two things I hate but in this season the racism card seems logic in the story. On the other hand the whole religion stuff is just annoying. What annoyed me as well is the sometimes amateur filming of some conversations where you hear people talking but they show those same people doing something else without talking. I don't know what the hell they were thinking when they shot those scenes but to me it didn't look professional at all. But for the story itself season one was worth watching. I will give the second season a chance with the hope they don't continue their stupid religions. Edit after watching season two: I am extremely disappointed with season two. It was painful to watch, with a lot of awful characters, bad acting, a bad story, and still amateur directing. I gave season one a seven but that was a bit too much. Season two gets a 2 so that gives a total of 4 and a half what I will round down to a four. This show doesn't deserve more. I'm not even going to bother watching the next season.
