Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
A Disappointing Continuation
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
View MoreThe thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
View MoreI'm probably not the only one who finds himself led to watch these series from watching the Ricky Gervais show/podcast. Karl Pilkington is as simple as i gets for the eye but the inside man is spectacular. Never ever could you predict the things he will say or do or think unless it's his signature line: "ye it's aw-right in'nit". Hahahah i mean the man is a brilliant comedy and for those of you that think he's and idiot you are wrong for some matter. The man is not educated but has a common sense level of a much more educated man and clearly has an intellectual potential. He's not the best at expressing which makes everything he says hilarious. I love that man i really do. I have grown to care for him and the magical trio so much, it think i really will miss him. BRILLIANT
View MoreI'm a fan of Ricky Gervais, never knew much about Karl till "Derek" but that still wasn't much. Saw this on Netflix and figured I'd try it out. It is by far one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. As for documentaries this and Wildboyz are by far the funniest.Karl is definitely an idiot. But being an idiot also makes him a genius. It is something you need to watch for yourself to really understand how funny and stupid, yet insightful Karl is.The stuff he says seems so idiotic but if you really think about it, it is true. He isn't afraid to say or do what he feels whether it offends someone or not.Really give this show a try, you won't regret it.
View MorePut together by the two comedic genius' that brought you "The Office" and "Extras". You'd think that this show would be a genius, subtle and well put together comedy featuring Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais.But no, this show is all about one lovable idiot. Named Karl Pilkington. Karl Pilkington is the average Brit who will make you love this show after one episode. The comedy is stupidly funny that everyone will understand. Karl is a reluctant traveler practically forced into these situations by two friends. Watch, as the ultimate pessimist is put in the worst of conditions and gives his opinions idiotic but hilarious opinions on his travels and his own life.If you have a strong dislike of Ricky Gervais or Stephen Merchant(A lot of people seem to). Don't worry they're not in it much.The best thing about the show is that it's all real! Karl is no actor. He is genuine simpleton living out his life in London. However, Ricky and Steve have hidden some surprises along the way that Karl describes as "the lowest points of me life"
View MoreThe more I watched, the more I disliked this show, and its creator. Apparently the whole premise of this show is to travel to new places and insult the locals and their customs. Arrogant and ignorant. Not everyone in the world live as well as some, and purposefully traveling to places, mocking and poking fun at those who are going about their daily lives, doing their best, isn't comedy, its shameful. Different people, cultures and life styles are what make life interesting. We should celebrate, and encourage diversity, not scoff at it. "Idiot Abroad" is an appropriate title for this show, he makes the rest of us look bad. I would NOT recommend this show, and certainly will not be watching it anymore.
