This Movie Can Only Be Described With One Word.

    Disappointment for a huge fan!

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

Next to the Star Trek series, this show is right up in the top ranked sci-fi shows IMO. It kept you on the edge of your seat right until the end. It really stunk about the Bester showdown though, I was only really riled about that in ending though.I wanted to see Lita & Garibaldi take on Bester & his team of telepaths. And Londo should have been able to outwit the evil aliens in the end too(Shadow allies). Sadly they left us hanging though, & I already figured Sheridan would be finished off in some fashion too, heros mostly die in shows-movies these days No surprise there:( Overall it's a very watchable show i really enjoyed it:)

This is the easiest review I've ever made) Actually ..and yes it is a spoiler sorry... To make a review about one of my best loved TV show it is just to recite the manifest of G'Kar..something of UN stuff..the message of the United Nations) OK I must elaborate. spoilers beware) Michael Straczynski created the world)) something like United Nations in space) The fairy tale where in the end peace was a great victory ))However... like the style of the many of the Polish authors ... The peace was gained not without very terrible sacrifices and yet.. not without goodness and humanity in all)) So.. here goes) "The Universe speaks in many languages but only one voice. A language which is not Narn or Human or Centauri or Gaim or Minbari. It speaks in the language of hope.It speaks in the language of trust. It speaks in the language of strength and the language of compassion. It is the language of the heart and of the language of the soul; but always it is the same voice; it is the voice of our ancestors speaking through us, and the voice of our inheritors waiting to be born; it is the small still voice that says: "We are one." No matter the blood, no matter the skin, no matter the world, no matter the star. We are one. No matter the pain, no matter the darkness, no matter the loss, no matter the fear. We are one. Here, gathered together in common cause we agree to recognize this singular truth and this singular rule: that we must be kind to one another.Because each voice enriches us and ennobles us, and each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light the way to a better future. We are one."

I rarely give a 10 and all I can say the full series, that I recently borrowed from the local library, I watched twice. Unfortunately I followed it with Battleship Gallacia, that I found wanting and had a very convoluted plot. Although it had also great actors, music scores, etc.Considering this was made in the 1990s, it was revolutionary and it was very easy for me to identify with the screen writer's intentions and overall creative narrative, and see the characters evolve. The booklet attached to the various disc series was also helpful.Who could not love the various characters, Londo and Vir, but one little thing puzzled me, what happened to the Drahk, who had the keepers. They seem to have disappeared from their captured planet when Vir became Emperor. Maybe they died out all but the one that given by Londo for David's coming of age. I believe he went off his head after a drinking bout.I really can't say any more in praise of this series. I loved it. It was a masterpiece of concept, continuity, and the writer well you are a master. No other Sci-Fi series comes close, even though I am a Star Trek fan. I hope to get the five movie length discs sometime in the future.

I don't know where to start actually, it can be phrased in just one sentence. Babylon 5 is even after 20 years of its first appearance the absolute best a Sci-fi series can offer to a viewer. i started watching the series in 1994 i believe and it never catched me but there was one reason why it was that way. im from Germany and the synchronisation of the dialogs where not only been flawed in many ways it took away the soul of each character and left the viewer with a sorry excuse of a translation of events and feelings. i started watching the series from scratch in 2000 and in the mothertongue ( englisch ) and its a difference of night and day. i learned my englisch thanks to this series. i just made an account because i feel that babylon 5 doesn't get enough credit for what this series really is. Its a magnificent story telling of events / Masterclass Actors and producers. I don't even know where to begin of praising this fantastic and absolute top notch Sci-fi series. In my humble opinion there is nothing in the last 20 years that can even consider themselves to be on the same level as Babylon 5.I can only urge everyone who haven't seen this fastastic top notch series to just give it a try in englisch. Its a journey where you get pulled into and you surely don't want to come out again.I can only give this series a defnetly 10 out of 10... hell no i'd give it an fkn 20. By far my favorite series ever created in a Sci-fi environment. Even the Special effects seems now in 2014/15 a littly rusty just imagine this series was created with limited resources and not much budget in 1994 ! And now after 20 years i say Thank you with all my heart to all people who were there to created this absolute stunning masterpiece. Thanks a lot. Veit / Berlin 9.12.2014
