This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

I thought this was a very brave move by Liverpool and one that paid off. I can understand some people making comments about 'not much football', but when you take in to account that the first few episodes were 'pre- season' and the majority of the players were on international duty or holiday then its obvious why. I like the insights in to the players lives and its nice to see that its not all about the football. Its a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes of the club and see how it ticks. Its good to see that a club is brave enough to allow access on a more personal level. I also thought that including the 'background' staff was important because it showed that Liverpool care not only about the players, but about everyone from the laundry man to the catering assistants. I really enjoyed it and hope that there is a second series.

Having seen a few teasers I thought this would be an interesting series. Having watched the two first episodes that illusion is gone. In the first ep nothing much happens at all. Liverpool is a working-class city, lfc is a great club having been mediocre the last few seasons and has got a new manager who is supposed to turn the ship around. Pour some footage of players doing bland interviews in the car, showing snippets of their expensive homes and playing golf. And no, being a footballer doesn't mean you've got anything interesting to say. In ep two there is at least some football played (although that only amounts to snippets of preseason matches with a team full of reserves) and a young player gets told off for saying 'steady' to the manager. And yes, training in Boston in the summer can be hot. Probably the series will pick up at least some steam with the pace of the premier league season (however, lfc has started disastrously and I very much doubt that this glossy production will provide an interesting view on that). Or otherwise just watch the games.
