What makes it different from others?

Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.

I never write reviews on here, but this is an exception at how utterly boring this series is. It has no gripping, edge of your seat moments that it could have. The story line and plot is extremely mediocre. The whole premise of people dying after the age of 22 was intriguing but it was done in the worst way possible. A group of friends and I could write a better script. It's unfortunate, and the acting is terrible.

The sci fi concept is interesting and bery tempting to see how they are going to play it out. But they really failed im season 1 from the start to end it was just meh. But then season 2 came and they really lifted the story to another level. Still jot good enough but interesting plot twists

Was this really written by professionals. There are so many plot holes. Things the characters do don't make sense most of the time. Potentially a spoiler for Season 2 so if you don't want to know anything stop reading now. OK so how does a town run out of food and the people are on the verge of starving in 54 days. I mean really? This is a Canadian series, but apparently no one in the town knows how to hunt for food. Not one thing is said about water, but food is running out. I mean really who wrote this crap.

Any series that has everyone under 22 is designed to be for that audience. This one does that so expect lots of stereotypes and teen angst. Having said that I found it fairly interesting much of the time and fastforwarded through some parts that were clearly cringe- worthy. Last minute thought and in retrospect very relevant - each episode starts with how many days since the outbreak. I think the last episode says something like 22 days since the outbreak. So much happens to the town, to the streets and stores in what is essentially a 3 week period. A 3 week period in which the kids remaining are anticipating a lifting of the quarantine at some point. That makes what happens a little hard to take.People complain about the poor acting and some of it but most is acceptable. I agree with one review that this group of kids, regardless of their age, don't seem to show much emotion about the fact their parents died. Also there is really no attempt at organizing - there aren't that many leaders so it would be easy to set up some type of control - just not self-imposed by one group. And did anyone take that group seriously? When we saw them with rifles - it was clear they were out of their element. And the group they were going after, the country guys, were much more used to weapons and looked like they could use them. There were some unexplained plot lines that were glaring such as: *why was there no air supply drop of supplies by the gov't *why was there no attempt to provide basic leadership, civic or medical services by internet. If these kids were to believe that the world was out to help them then you'd want them to be supported while you waited for the quarantine to end *when the soldiers have left the fence and then left a mine field - why not open the fence more and drive old vehicles onto the mine field. As they exploded they'd clear a path for them to escape. Now they might have been stopped but if you are wanting out of this fenced area - this seems an easy way to do that. *Why did no one go to check the prison? This is a 10 sq. mile area fenced off. You'd think it would be a natural to go check out the prison for both weapons and what is likely a good supply of food.I know it might seem useless to look for logic in a series like this but you try. It is interesting that they are willing to kill off some of the major characters and kill off kids such as in the two car accidents and then in the last episode. So they are willing to add an edge to the storyline.
