The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.

Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

As a Canadian, I was thrilled for there to be a Canadian version of Idol. Ben Mulroney was an excellent host, just as good as Ryan Seacrest and the judges were good too. Well, the judges were good some of the times. The only known one was Sass Jordan.Nobdoy knew Jake Gold, Farley Flex and Zack Werner. Zack Werner was the only other memorable one because he was the Simon Cowell character. Unfortunately, the show started off a bit off, and just got worse.Season 1, like any other show, had good and bad singers. Ryan Malcolm, the worst singer, won. Runner up--Gary Beals--was much better.Season 2 was not only the best season in the show, but one of the best in any Idol syndication. Sure there was bad contestants, but they were gone right away. Eventually, they were left with true talent and good stars. The inferior talents were voted off properly. It got down to the top five, which is what really made the season. Shane Weibe, Jason Greeley, Jacob Hogard, Tereasa Sokaryka (or however it's spelled), and Kalan Porter were Canadian Idol's greatest contestants. They were voted off in the order that I listed with Porter being the victor. They still make music, but Jacob is the best known one who fronts the world famous Hedley. Hedley started off generic, then stooped to the bottom of the barrel. And to think Hogard was one of Idol's best ever.I thought Season 3 would be like Season 2. But no, they were back to square one. Actually, they took a step back from Season 1. Season 1 just had a bad winner, everybody else was good. Season 3 seemed to be getting rid of all the good people right away and leaving all the bad ones till the end. When I say bad, I mean they were literally off key. Winner, Melissa O'Neal wasn't that good, but she was off the least amount of times. Runner up, Rex Goudie, sounded somewhat good in his albums to come. Just shows what can happen these days with electronics and computers.Season 4 could not have been worse. I only remember three contestants: Chad Doucette, Craig Sharppe and winner Eva Avila. Doucette and Sharppe were overly gay and overly bad. Nothing wrong with being gay, but they dressed like freaks. Sharppe was the runner up and was awful. This was pretty mud a repeat of Season 3. Avila was like O'Neal. These people would not have made it past the auditions in American Idol. My family and I decided to stop watching this show altogether.I checked out a few bits and pieces of Season 5. Brian Mello was the winner, Jaydee Bixby was the runner up, and Carly Rae Jepson was third. I hate Jepson. I never even knew she was on this. Knowing how bad she is and how bad the show was, I was not all that shocked. The most I remember of the snippets was Bixby singing Time of Your Life by Green Day. That is an iconic song and guaranteed winner. He was so off key, messed up the words, and tried to make it country. All judges praised him, except Zack, who told it like it was and bashed him. I cheered. I forget who was on later, but they were awful and the judges praised them too, but Zack bashed it again. Good! Somebody honest! I didn't care about seeing any of the last Season. I will always remember it for the first two seasons.

This season was absolutely spectacular! I've seen American Idol, and i didn't want to give Canadian Idol a chance. I was sure it was going to be a waste of time, like almost every other Canadian-based show we have. I was completely blown away with how wrong i was... with this particular season anyway. It was jam-packed with talent and hilarity, two very important factors, I'm sure, in the show's ultimate success. I was especially impressed with Canada's ability to distinguish between real, original talent and your everyday excellent performance. The top 3 easily proves our country's ability to do just that, having Jacob, Theressa and Kalan - all of whom have very original voices. Even though Kalan won, all three of the finalists developed equally impressive careers for themselves afterward, something American Idol has yet to accomplish. Besides the amazing talent this season, there was definitely other memorable moments (especially involving Jacob's comedic antics) that further proved that this season of Canadian Idol was definitely the best season, in any country, thus far.

this is my favourite show!!! it is awesome!! I LOVE KALAN PORTER!! The judges are Sass Jordan, Farley Flex, Zack Werner, Jake Gold, with host Ben Mulroney (host of e talk daily) and correspondent Jon Dore. The top 10 are: 1. Kalan Porter 2. Brandy Callahan 3. Manoah Hartmann 4. THeresa Sokyrka 5. Elena Juatco 6. Shane Weibe 7. Joshua Seller 8. Jacob Hoggard 9. Kaleb Simmonds 10. Shane Greeley. This television show really showcases canada's talent. This is one terrific show! I think Kalan Porter will win. The first two who were eliminated from the competition were Brandy Callahan (who was first eliminated) and Manoah Hartmann (who recently was eliminated that makes her the second person eliminated from the show).

I watched and enjoyed American Idol, so I was skeptical that the Canadian version could improve on the formula, but they totally have. The show is smarter, funnier, and more touching too - plus the Canadian competitors seem to be way more talented. I especially love that Jon Dore guy - he's hilarious! And Ben Mulroney is surprisingly funny too - his voiceover comments constantly crack me up. I can't wait to see who wins it - I already have a few favorites!
