A Disappointing Continuation
I have absolutely never seen anything like this movie before. You have to see this movie.
View MoreIt’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
View MoreClose shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
View MoreHow do you make an action series with exotic locales dull? Beats us, but apparently Quinn Martin found the perfect formula. Two Miami-based cops fight crime in the Caribbean, and in one episode one of the bad guys refers to them as "Caribe Force". Two cops are a force? By that definition, do 4 cops make the Rose Parade? The weekly plots, such as they were, swung wildly from stunningly dull to grossly overblown, and one got the impression that the whole thing was done pretty much as an afterthought with very little attention being given to believability. F'rinstance, in one episode, a helicopter is being shot at by people on the ground, and smoke begins to stream from one of its landing skids. Now, having spent many hours in and around helicopters, we can tell you unequivocally that there is absolutely nothing flammable about landing skids but, somehow, the mighty Quinn thought that even the most uninformed viewer would think there was. A bit insulting, no? Thankfully, this misbegotten loser didn't last past 13 episodes, and qualifies for permanent residence in the Bermuda Triangle.
View MoreWith the tropical setting and exotic locale, it could have been a caribbean version of Hawaii 5-0, but unfortunately it was too lacklustre and boring. Storylines run from the mundane to the overspent. A balding Stacy Keach and a bland Carl Franklin couldn't save this mediocre fare; one of Quinn Martin's forgettable failures.
