Too much of everything
Strictly average movie
Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??
The first must-see film of the year.
Works on every level. If you loved workaholics you should love Detroiters. There is so much subtle hidden funny bits and one liners plan to watch each episode multiple times to get every gem. And just like workaholics plan on repeating one liners to your buddies the next day. Reviewing this during middle of season 2. Love that they are expanding their universe to include much more family, friends or external characters and out side of the office settings. We have seen sam's family before which is great, but glad we are seeing tim's family. The episode with tim's brother was just awesome! Its the little stuff, like when the store owner bans the kid from the store, as he leaves he bows up at tim and tim crumbles into sam's arm scared. Great writing, you will know it when you see it.
View MoreI don't know how this would play if I didn't come from Detroit, but I do, and I love the many references to Detroit culture: Mort Crim, Vernors, Detroit R&B and Soul Music... The entire cast is terrific but Sam Richardson is one of those brilliant comic actors that comes along every once and awhile, like Pryor and Murphy, who have have instinctive comic timing and charm. He's instantly lovable even while his character is displaying less than a admirable behavior. This show has its own quirky pacing and self awareness that makes it distinctly it's own. I hope people discover it. It's a perfect little comic gem.
View MoreDoesn't always represent Detroit the best, but the city has it's fair share of problems so I guess that's okay. The show is just entertaining and funny. The two main characters don't fail to crack me up. The humor kind of reminds me of the sort of Workaholics kind of show. I really hope I see more of Detroiters in the future!
View MoreHi everyone, I just started watching it today. If the comedy of the first 20 minutes of this show which made me laugh is a product of what is to be for the future of this show then you have a WINNER. The comedic writing and actors made me laugh already with anticipation. Episode Sam starts dating (bar scene) my friend always intruded when it came to meeting women. Well done sincerely, Jose G.
