Watched this on and off from the first series and every time I ask myself why??? Its predictable,child like humour is embarrassing. I really could sit there for the whole series and not raise a smile. Poorly written sorry. I cant believe its written by the same guy as The Inbetweeners which in contrast is my top all time comedy ...Hilarious. I finally throw in the towel to put myself through any more agonising Friday night dinner. I would rather watch paint dry !!!!! Can we have a sequel to The Inbetweeners A really funny series about what the famous 4 are getting up to in their eventful lives post leaving school and going their own way. This would be worth watching !!!

Friday Night Dinner is an excellent sitcom starring Tasmin Greig, Simon Bird, Paul Ritter and Tom Rosenthal. Paul Ritter who plays Dad is particularly funny and provides the most gags in each episode. One of my favourite shows on TV! I've never laughed so much watching some of these episodes. All 3 series are funny, crude and extremely well written. I prefer Simon Bird in this role as Adam than I do as Will in The Inbetweeners and I love The Inbetweeners so that's saying something. Nothing but praise for Friday Night Dinner. Jim the neighbour is also brilliant, the idea of him being frightened of his own dog makes me laugh and Jim is just hilarious and awkward.Outstanding series, I would recommend it highly! It's a shame we only have 3 series, I really want more of Friday Night Dinner.

Love this show. At first I actually thought the acting was weird, just to be weird (which can be extremely awful). But boy, was I wrong.This show actually have characters that could swing on the black side of comedy or the white side of comedy. Its success is in the timing! This show is just funny but in a smart way. Not a regular American comedy which almost every time is Painful to watch. The only bad comment I have is on the last episode. That is when it is obvious one of the brothers are more lucky than the other one... all the other episodes does not have that feeling which makes me glad. I Hope the second season does not simplify everything and have characters that you KNOW all too well and doesn't provide any intelligence at all. But so far, so good. 5/6 episodes are awesome!

On paper, Friday Night Dinner should work well, particularly on account of its strong cast. Sadly, though, the whole show falls rather flat. I've seen the first three episodes now and the standard hasn't improved from the debut. The "jokes" are predictable, the dialogue forced and the whole tempo quite slow. It also has a very odd pseudo-dance soundtrack which doesn't fit in with the show's themes. The basic premise of two sons going round to see their parents every Friday for dinner could be exploited far better: instead, the show was already repetitive by episode 2. The Inbetweeners and Peep Show have nothing to worry about competition-wise...
