Fantastic!
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
View MoreExcellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
View MoreStrong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
View MoreUnfortunately, the program producers have recently jumped onto the "let's make it look like film instead of video" bandwagon. Consequently, sharpness and detail of the video image are greatly reduced, making it, for me, unwatchable. I was a huge fan of the program and have saved onto my DVR every episode ever produced. I'm so disappointed.
View MoreI came upon this series quite by accident, when I was on Netflix streaming looking for new things. Since I was very young I had an interest in making things. I remember making crude electric motors and telegraph sets at home. As I have lived my life, rapidly approaching 70 now, I can't count how many times I have wondered what went into making something. The reason I call this a "perfect" show is because each topic is treated in roughly 5 minutes. The usual pattern is a selection of four quite different topics with a total running time right at 21 minutes. They of course can't go into lots of depth in just 5 minutes, but each script and presentation gets in just the right amount of detail.Today I saw such diverse topics as making cold-smoked salmon, hatching chicks, making blown plastic bottles, and constructing a harp. Sometimes I will see that none of the four topics interests me enough so I just skip the episode.I have become a big fan, this is an ideal program for those of us who just love to get the inside view on how things are made.
View Moreit is the best show and i have been watching it forever. it is my favorite show! it provides great information about almost everyday products. some examples of products are like boats, buses, engines, and a bunch more stuff, a bunch!!!!!!!!!!! there is a person in the background saying very detailed instructions while they show you the video how they make it! the show is full of excitement, and it is very educational. the best show i have ever seen! super! i have never seen a show better!!!! it is on 2 channels, (science channel and discovery channel), and very good times. I am not sure why some people are posting 3 star reviews? overall, it is the best show that i think is on the science channel!
View MoreThis show is extremely well done. The range of products showcased is broad and interesting, and the amount of detail presented for each segment strikes the right balance between thoroughness and conciseness -- particularly given the short attention span of today's TV audience. The finished product is slick and technically excellent, which is particularly remarkable given just how few people put this show together (take a moment to watch the end credits sometime -- you'll be surprised!) I was unimpressed by the work of the male narrator they used in some early episodes, but apart from that I've found little to fault and have been a devoted watcher pretty much since day one. Unreservedly suitable and entertaining for all ages, and superb for family viewing.
