just watch it!
It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

View MoreAn old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
View MoreQuick witted, punchy written show is another winner, among the other slap stick shows, and you know the ones I'm talking about. This is the comedy I like, ones that offer frequent laughs, but also biting remarks, and truths about suburbia, with another family that just grows on you. Kim and Sharon, of course are the real source of laughs, where the talented actors all deliver and create characters, you'll never forget, until the day you die. You can only hope to be ten percent as good as the writers, who deliver, snappy comeback lines of gold. There's much heartlessness about, thanks to Kim, where we really feel for dateless Sharon, but here's a true blue show to be proud of or collect on DVD, as you never know when a day, will warrant a multitude of laughs, and we're talking per show. This is one of very few that will do it, thanks to the cutting writers, and it's great cast.
View Moreif you loved the "wogs" series of the late 80's then you will probably think this is funny as well.Racial stereotypes set in day to day life, if you want to watch something in that sort of vein go watch "Kingswood Country" or for a USA production, "Married with children" or "SOAP".If the producers were trying to turn away potential immigrants then they have a hit production, this would turn me away if I was foreign born and saw this as what Australian's were like. It's as funny as Barry Humphries' Dame Edna character, and has as much to do with Australian life as Dame Edna does.do yourself a favor, if you find it funny, go see a psychiatrist?
View MoreKATH & KIM starring Jane Turner, Gina Riley, Glenn Robbins, Peter Rowsthorn, Magda SzubanskiMOST PROBABLY CONTAINS *SPOILERS*The Australian sitcom. Ah, a very rare creature whose species was thought to have become extinct. Until recently, recorded sightings were sporadic ("Kingswood Country" and "Mother & Son") or downright false ("Hey Dad..!" and "Us and Them"). Then along came Kath & Kim. Mmm. Kath & Kim. This curious creature was discovered a decade ago, and was seen intermittently through the Nineties on "Big Girl's Blouse" and "Something Stupid". Atypically worldly in nature, and very aware of its surroundings, Kath & Kim of the Noughties has adapted well to its suburban sprawl surroundings. The good news is that it has spread to other parts of Australia, and other foreign environments. In all seriousness, Kath & Kim has done for Aussie comedy what pathetic Aussie 'comedy' "Hey Dad..!" failed to ever do: provide heaps and heaps of 'laughta'. Though the premise for Kath & Kim is not exactly groundbreaking, its fly-on-the-wall, hand-held-camera-in-a-real-house (a la reality TV), its jumbled sayings, proverbs and mispronounced and incorrect words (eg, "What does that PACIFICALLY entail?"), and its satirical flavour are all winning ingredients. NOW, A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE BEGINNINGRelieved empty nester 40-something Kath (Turner) is shocked to her very core when her selfish, self-absorbed, immature 20-something daughter Kim (Riley) returns to the nest. Kimmy is equally shocked to discover that her once Care Bear-infested bedroom has been turned into a pump and Pilates room by exercise-mad Kath - and so soon after her marriage to Brett (Rowsthorn). What ensues is a struggle for space, with the latter reclaiming her place in the family home. Kath's equipment ends up in the 'good room' AKA the living room. Long live Kath & Kim......A must-see!
View MoreI started watching this show this week, and I would have to say that it is one of the funniest Australian comedies I have ever seen. The roles of two australian women with bad dictation (especially Kath, played by Jane Turner) makes you want to watch it, and not stop. Sharon (played by Magda Szubanski) makes me laugh so much, I cry (being a male, I hate to admit that, but it's true) Overall, anyone who enjoys a good laugh, and has a wacky sense of humour, watch it, because you won't forget that first time you witnessed this show.
