Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

This show looked and sounded like it was created by a couple of 10- year-olds who got their hands on some animation software. The dialogue was trite and clichéd and the plot about as predictable as you could possibly imagine. Add to that the patently obvious and preachy "we must save the environment" message and you have one of the worst animated shows I've ever seen. (And mind you, I'm an environmentalist-- but the heavy-handedness of the messaging was gag-inducing.) I watched this show with my kids because I'm a big fan of Kong in its previous incarnations, but this one was a waste of time. And my kids' complete lack of reaction throughout the entire hour and ten minutes of the premier episode tells me that they agree.

I'm a full grown man and I must say I love this show. It's so sweet, and it is a bit allegorical to what is happening to animals in general now days. The show actually educates a little bit on this, and the vision of the show is the importance of animal conservation. The main character in the show, especially the antagonist, are a bit of stock but it is still a great show. It is also more interactive than other shows with short bonus videos with different endings related to the episodes at the end each one.

the show can be very cringy at times with the protagonists but the villains are great and make the show really enjoyable to watch. i love botila and i forget that she is a robot, and richard is by far the best character in this show in my opinion. i would love to see richard embark on his own arc and discover why he is so evil. i also really want to see more amy, and hope her character becomes more developed. i really want to see richard and amy to becoming at least friends, and hopefully become lovers, all honesty it would be really cool and it would be an excellent opportunity to see some character growth on them, they are polar opposites after all and just see the chemistry between them. with season 2 confirmed, i cannot wait.

Spoilers ahead as if you couldn't see where it is going moments in.The show is set in the near future where man has destroyed almost all the rain forest and poachers outnumber the animals they hunt. Kong starts off captured as a baby and the ship they are in crashes. Kong is saved by a boy who befriends him. Time passes well enough showing Kong growing over the matter of seconds as they run out to play. Then Kong for no reason given or even looked into seems to grow from about eight feet to around fifty feet in the time it takes the family to run outside.First off this shows animation is very lazy and boring. It is done by the man who mad the Pac-Man show who i couldn't get though a few episodes of that either. During the show pop-ups appear telling you that Kong got upgraded like its a video game. The closest to a game it gets is small shorts between episodes that have zero bearing on anything. The show does also love to tell you how humans have destroyed the environment yet the cities are very clean as are the skies. Every animal is the last of their kind except one but don't worry even though there are two only one makes it though the first episode. The plot in this show is so transparent you can tell where it is going seconds after introducing someone. Oh dotting old father with poor health what could happen? Twin boys one loves nature the other hates it. Build a theme park with animatronic dinosaurs and a live giant gorilla and somehow the last living gorilla gets the attention of the park guests to the shock of the smart brother. The jealous brother sending his dinos to attack Kong over and over.I couldn't even make it though two episodes of this trite. A girl calls the maid of the house and is just at that time attacked by a giant anaconda that she didn't see under the bird ten feet from her. The maid asking for help to hurry and rescue her niece stops to bake cookies before sending the boys on their way. Who in a valent rush to save the girl who is thousands of miles away being attacked by a giant snake take off then go back to build something to bring Kong taking untold hours before they are able to leave again. Then they bring up the fact that humans wiped out the rain forest so this beast must have migrated because it had no where to live.At this point i turned it off i assume by the time they get there the girl is digested due to the time they took. This show is about as subtle about the environment as Captain Planet. They could have gone the route of Sonic AM where you see something bad happen and its effects rather than try to make you feel bad for being a human.Netflix has some great originals for kids like King Julian and How to Train Your Dragon. Then they have crap like this that makes me mad they wasted money on it.Out of boredom before this i was watching Dinotrux a show about dinos who are machines from cranes, dozers, dump trucks, rock grinders and earth movers. A show streaming bright colored toys buy me is a hundred times more mature than a show based on a classic movie monster. Now lets keep this in mind of what that means. When King Kong came out it was one of the biggest monsters in horror. He was the equivalent to Freddy Kruger of his time. Yet the show he is in now is less mature than a show made to sell toys.I love monsters like Kong and Godzilla i would love for Netflix to make a good TV show out of Kong but this show is past saving. Im in hopes they scrap the idea and start over. King Kong could be a huge blockbuster show but not with this studio touching it. I would treat this studio like they did the rain forest in their show. I would slash and burn them to never look back.
