Lack of good storyline.
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
View MoreIt’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

I was in the mood to watch something about Vikings. Found this series on Netflix and from the first exchange of dialogue I knew it wasn't what I was looking for, but I let it ride. After the first episode I realized I had found a diamond in the rough. I was hooked and could not stop watching until I had watched the entire first season in one sitting! I'm old enough to remember Monty Python and as a fan of the old show, I'm telling you this is better. Yes a little too crass at times, I get that, but the type of audience that appreciates this kind of comedy will either like those scenes or at the very least, tolerate them in order to enjoy the rest. This fantastic cast handles the dramatic scenes with the same credibility as the comedy. Can't wait to watch the next season. Bravo to the Norwegian creators of this show. You are the absolute best at this type of comedy. Please continue, we're watching and loving it.......
View MoreI saw a clip on 9gag and was curious about the show, as the little clip did give me a chuckle (the horn helmet scene). The first episode actually bored me a little but then again the entire first season of Game of Thrones wasn't too thrilling to me either (and yet I'm hooked on that too). The humor is quite dark in some moments, but it is also quite lighthearted sometimes too. It's a great balance in my opinion. The interactions between the characters (delivered fantastically by the actors) are humorous due to the fact that it seems like "every day conversation." Not only does it have humor though, it also has a good storyline. It hasn't gotten dull (yet?) and I'm almost through the first season.I can't comment on the accuracy of the history (I'm not quite a Viking expert) but what show really does have 100% accuracy on history? I'm purely entertained by the acting and the humor. The quality of the show looks superb as well. I'm always on the hunt for a TV show to watch on Netflix and I'm glad this was introduced to me to fill my relaxation/free time. I can't get enough!
View MoreI just stumbled across this on Netflix. I clicked expecting a knock off of Vikings. Something to fill the GOT void.Instead I got an interesting surprise, a Viking comedy. So the gritty look of history channels Vikings but actually a lot of humour. Some dark humour and some base humour(which fits the Viking idea very well). It reminds me of the kids show horrible histories, but this is definitely not one for kids. I can see the comparisons between this to Monty python but I actually don't find Monty python funny where this I did.The humour may be down to personal taste but I found myself genuinely Laughing at the antics, which is something I don't do often enough with the mainstream comedies. In regards to one review saying about the accents....really!? I think the accents actually help make it feel more genuine. Also, these guys filmed in both Norwegian and English that deserves serious kudos. Personally, I massively prefer the accents over dubbing and subtitles. This is one show which needs a second season.
View MoreThis came as something of a surprise as it's unbelievably well rounded for a first season. Great characters, very funny in places but also with some very dark humour and a lot of incidental violence (so this is absolutely not general family viewing!).One thing to note: it's Norwegian but available on Netflix in English. Don't fear poor dubbing though as it's performed in both languages by the same actors which means you lose nothing in the process.Final point is how well made it is from a production point of view - it's not a show that particularly needs high production values but it has them. Very much so. A great show all round.
