Horrible, fascist and poorly acted
It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
View MoreTrue to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
View MoreUnarguably, The best drama I have ever seen. Love the plot/story behind very scene and keeps getting better and better. Also the history behind this is very interesting which has got me starting to research about the Ottoman time period.
View MoreI don't know much about history but this was pretty interesting to watch. A lot of it seems pretty low budget and fake but it still worth it. My main complaint about this (watched on netflix) is that it has the most ridiculous censoring I've ever seen. The fight scenes arent very intense so it's not that graphic to begin with...but as an example...a guy gets a cut on his cheek (not even deep...just a red line) and HALF OF HIS FACE IS BLURRED. The guy is alive too so for half an episode he only has half a face. The acting is also pretty bad because it's overly dramatic. The way people express emotion on their face when they should be subtle or should hide their reactions is ridiculous. My last complaint and then I'll shut up...The women in this series are ALWAYS out of line. What I mean by this is that I'm pretty sure if things happened like this in the past I'm almost certain most of these women would be stoned or put to death. It is hard to watch at times because if a woman did some of this stuff in todays society she'd almost certainly be beaten to death because it's enough to drive a husband (or any man, woman, or child) insane...and I'm pretty sure that things are less brutal now than they were in the past. Just my two cents on that subject.
View MoreSuper addictive, really intense and much more rich than game of thrones
View MoreAn Islamic themed drama series inspired by true events and based upon historical characters in Islam. About the heroic efforts of Ertugrul Ghazi, the father of Uthman (founder of the Ottoman Empire). It's about the struggles he faced alongside his nomadic tribe in finding a secure settlement to live, how he defended their lands and liberated other lands from oppressive rulers (Crusaders and Mongols) - full of scenes of tawakkul (reliance on Allah), honour, spiritually uplifting and emotional at times, treachery, greed for power, fairness and justice, intertwined with tales of love, humbleness, respect for Awliya, power of zikr, brotherhood, unity and traditions.Good storyline and good acting by well suited actors. It's in the Turkish language with English subtitles. Even if you don't understand a word of Turkish, I highly recommend it, it's better than all those over-dramatic Asian dramas I tell ya.
