    Waste of time

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

I remember liking this when it first came out. I was 13, and so I watched cartoons a lot. I liked throughout the ages of 13 and 14, because I feel i didn't know any better. I then became 15, and what I liked about the show fell. I started to gain more understanding for cartoons and what I like about cartoons. When I look back at season one and I see a fun show that doesn't care much about a huge confusing plot, and I still like those episodes today, because they're just plain old fun. When toffee was first introduced, that was when the show fell. Now don't get me wrong, Toffee is a great character. He's the only one with an understandable backstory and his goals are understandable. But at this point, the show began to try and set up backstories and romance, and it doesn't work with what the show is about. This is why I bring up season 2, because that was when all of this was introduced. In season 2, they make two main characters fall in love, when Star says she's okay with it, but then randomly becomes jealous throughout the episode. I know they were trying to have "character development", but it did not work at all. By season three I gave up watching it. While my sister adores it I find no purpose to what this show has become. I do, on the other hand, like Pickle and Peanut, because is bathes in its own stupidity, and it only wants to make people laugh. Star is nothing but a show that will try to make compelling backstories, with random "emotional" scenes showing up, making you think, "they thought this up at the last second, didn't they?" They would occur out of nowhere. Sadly, this show has gone down to rubble trying to reach the stars (no pun intended). I thought it would be good, but only the first few quirky episodes are.

I like this show and yes I am an adult, why did Marco go from being a hero to basically being a hero to being a brat in the new season? You lost me.. did I mention that I am a Nelson family?

I have to admit that although I have been a huge fan of the show from the beginning, I have to admit that objectively speaking this show started out as a pretty mediocre cartoon that seemed to be the typical western animated series with little plot and only filler based episode. And I can understand if a casual viewer decides to not watch it because of that. With that being said, now that the second season of the show has come out, I can confidently say that from both a subjective and objective point of view that Star vs the Forces of Evil is easily one of the best recent cartoon ever, all up there with the likes of Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls and so on. The best aspect of the show as of late is definitely the characters of the show, for every single character is designed so well, even characters in the background or characters who haven't even have a role yet. They all blends in so well with this fantasy setting - which is also very well designed - to make it interesting and intriguing, which adds a lot to the lore and plot of the show. That being said, some of the episodes of the show are admittedly better than others, it's mainly that there are a couple of filler episodes that aren't as good as others (most of the plot based episodes are good, though). However I will say that the quality in season 2 increases tremendously compared to season 1 and it's mostly due to the fact that there have been a lot more plot, lore pieces unveiled. So I advise you that if you didn't really like much of season 1, then please keep watching, because I guarantee you that the quality really picks up big time.

With an abundance of Disney animated TV shows that have released over the years (most of which I've ignored ever since Kim Possible and Phineas & Ferb ended their run), none was more surprising than to see the studio present its take on classic "magical girl" and "fantasy" anime spun in their own way. Creator Daron Nefcy certainly presented something that feels like a throwback to the 90s cartoons I once knew (both from the East and West). In the Kingdom of Mewni, 14-year-old Star Butterfly (voiced by The Middle's Eden Sher) is expected to take the throne next in line as ruler. But her energetic and rambunctious nature causes so much damage that her parents - the King and Queen - ultimately send her to Earth where she must live there until she can harness her magic and prove herself worthy. Upon staying as an exchange student by crashing with her Earth friend Marco Diaz by her side, they go together on many misadventures as well as understanding each other both physically and emotionally along the way.Since Nefcy herself admitted that Sailor Moon became the main influence to help creating Star vs The Forces of Evil (including other anime titles), I have to say this is definitely a love letter to the fantasy-magical girl genre in Japanese anime. The show does have its moments of crazed antics commonly found in past American animated shows (which can wear thin when overused), but it compensates by maintaining a sense of staying grounded when the comedy is put aside and the more intense parts start building up the story. This is what kept my eyes and ears open for any important detail. With action, comedy, and a hint of romance thrown in overall, this is a TV show that has conjured up a spell that I've clearly fallen under.
