Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.
Brilliant and touching
Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
View MoreIn truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
View MoreAt a first glance, this show may look like an annoying little kids show, but don't be fooled. This is by far one of the best shows Disney has made, and I hope to see more of it in the future. I love how every character has depth and multiple sides to them you didn't know they had. Even Star has a rebel warrior side to her, and you may feel bad for the antagonists as well. The plot may seem dull and simple at first, but then it blossoms into a world of lore and mystery. Even in its simpler times, the show is still very entertaining. Some episodes will be filled with fun, adventure, and monster butt kicking, while other episodes will be filled with emotion, lore, and a glimpse at the lives of other characters. Plus, this show is very funny, greatly animated, and just plain fun to watch. Some elements of the show remind me of other shows, books, video games, and comics I enjoy. This is a must watch series especially if you like shows such as Gravity Falls or Adventure Time. This title gets a big thumbs up from CriticalBunniezđź‘Ť
View MoreStar vs the forces of evil is one of the best shows of the modern era. It's right up there if not better than the likes of Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and Steven Universe. The animation is simply incredible for an animated television show, and all of the characters have their own distinct personality. One of the first reasons I think this is such a great show is because the two main characters, Star and Marco have a clear connection you can see right from episode 1. Their chemistry grows over time and even sparks a romantic interest from our MC, Star.Even though the show isn't really too quick with getting into the overall plot, it delivers a superb one once it gets too it. The main villain of the show is one of the most devious and evil in cartoon history(Maybe aside from the Lich from AT) He's not like the normal cartoon villain that just tries to take something from the main character or to directly hurt them. He has a clear plan to completely destroy the butterfly family. He also has a mysterious and interesting backstory that we've dove into a bit, but a lot is still to be uncovered in Season 3. Finally, to wrap up on a few different parts of the show. I do like the humor of the show as it knows when to be funny and when to tone it down, even in a more lighthearted episode, which makes almost all episodes really entertaining despite maybe not having a part in the plot. The animation and character design as I said, is really nice and well done by Disney. This is a show for all ages, really fun to theorize about and a brilliant cartoon all around. And we're only halfway through!
View MoreWhen I saw the preview of this show, I thought "ah, another one of the Disney bunch", but I was wrong, this show in its beginning was very entertaining and I got a good laugh, but also with sad scenes, but that was not until Season 2, that the show got more and more intense, but it was not until the episode "Starcrushed" that certainly broke our hearts to almost everyone. The mood of this show is very clean, unlike others I have seen, who only make simple humor, or disgusting (I will not talk about those shows in case any fan of these does not feel offended). It is 100% comparable to other quality cartoons, such as "Gravity Falls", "Steven Universe", "Adventure Time", and "Regular Show". I give it a 9/10 rating for this show, because I feel that something is missing but I do not know what it is. Well this was my opinion.
View MoreI have to admit that although I have been a huge fan of the show from the beginning, I have to admit that objectively speaking this show started out as a pretty mediocre cartoon that seemed to be the typical western animated series with little plot and only filler based episode. And I can understand if a casual viewer decides to not watch it because of that. With that being said, now that the second season of the show has come out, I can confidently say that from both a subjective and objective point of view that Star vs the Forces of Evil is easily one of the best recent cartoon ever, all up there with the likes of Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls and so on. The best aspect of the show as of late is definitely the characters of the show, for every single character is designed so well, even characters in the background or characters who haven't even have a role yet. They all blends in so well with this fantasy setting - which is also very well designed - to make it interesting and intriguing, which adds a lot to the lore and plot of the show. That being said, some of the episodes of the show are admittedly better than others, it's mainly that there are a couple of filler episodes that aren't as good as others (most of the plot based episodes are good, though). However I will say that the quality in season 2 increases tremendously compared to season 1 and it's mostly due to the fact that there have been a lot more plot, lore pieces unveiled. So I advise you that if you didn't really like much of season 1, then please keep watching, because I guarantee you that the quality really picks up big time.
