Boring, over-political, tech fuzed mess
Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.
View MoreAmazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
View MoreIt's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
View MoreIt goes without saying, but I'll say it that this show was created in the wake of the success of That 70s Show and the nostalgia for that decade. Apparently there was a lot less nostalgia for the 80s because That 80s Show only lasted for 13 episodes.Meet the Howards, brother and sister Glenn Howerton and Tinsley Grimes and their father Geoff Pierson. Howerton is 20 years behind the times, he really belongs in the 60s. He's the lead and a creative soul and not into success in financial matters being the only thing that does matter. It was certainly a materialistic decade for those kids of parents who either really or vicariously went to Woodstock. That 80s Show never created the indelible characters that came from That 70s Show, but maybe it might have had it been given a longer run.The one character I remember vividly is that of Eddie Shinn, Chinese American, but possibly the illegitimate son of Ronald Reagan. This was a true child of the 80s, a devote believer in any get rich quick infomercial and the messages they sold. The 80s was the decade of that as the brakes started to come off capitalism. Shinn was so funny with his totally materialistic outlook. In fact Karl Marx would have used him as a textbook example of what was wrong with capitalism.Shinn's character Roger should have gotten his own show. Maybe we still can do that.
View MoreThis show was hilarious! I really wish that it would have been given more of a chance. The actors/actresses were perfect in their roles and had real chemistry. I only hope that some time in the future perhaps the cast will be reunited in some new series. If you haven't seen it I recommend downloading the episodes from some peer to peer network, you will love it if you watch more than the first 15 minutes of the first episode. Glenn Howerton, who plays Cory in the show, has a lot of talent and should go far as an actress. And Eddie Shin is just downright hilarious in his role. I hope to see more of him in other sitcoms in the future. But all of the cast made this show one of those "gotta see the next episode" series that should have stayed around for a long time. Too bad, the network didn't know what they had with this one!
View MoreIn Holland I've seen first that 80's show. I loved it. Good laughs, nice plots etc. After that, I watched somewhere else that 70's show. After two episodes I was bored and quit watching. In my opinion no humor, weak plots bad acting. So, if there were to make more episodes of that 80's, I'like that. Just the relation between Corey and June is so unlikely, that even that is funny in itself. I loved the series. Maybe the Dutch (or my personal opinion) is different from the American humor. Maybe this is such a series in which America in the 80's is presented as we in Europe picture it. After all, in Holland we do not all walk in wooden shoes, smoking drugs, and live in windmills, but that's the picture most Americans have from Holland, this is about the picture I've from America in the 80's (which is a wrong picture; I know!) View MoreJust stopped in to say that the 80's show totally rocked!! It did not suck at all, the whole problem was and apparently still is, that people constantly keep trying to compare this show to that 70's show. Well hey morons, I got some news for you, it isn't anything like that 70's show, cause its not supposed to be! Duh, it was the 80's! The show was hilarious, and at the same time, I believe depicted the best era in time with a great deal of integrity, the 80's were fun, thats what it was all about!! It really disgusts me that so few people in todays society took the time to really appreciate it. I guess people would rather watch others eating worms out of a bucket for entertainment. Think about it people!!
