A Masterpiece!

View MoreI just saw the first four episodes of season 1 and I will not be watching this show to its entirety. Here's why. This show just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Especially ''the affair '' itself. Why does it even happen? What reason did they both have to cheat on their spouses? Was it worth jeopardising their marriages, families and lives for?! Let me explain. The focus of the series is on two somewhat annoying,self-centered characters,Noah and Alison. Both of them have caring, understanding spouses without any major character flaws. Not abusive or annoying or withholding. Yet these two choose to have an affair with each other for absolutely no reason apart from lust and possibly boredom. Noah jeopardises his entire life just because he feels ''emasculated '' by his over bearing, bully of a father in law and rich, independent wife. Alison who has a husband who is gorgeous, loving and patient despite her being a depressed, dull, unappreciative bore with a bunch of emotional issues still chooses to cheat. The most ridiculous part is the way Noah's point of view constantly shows Alison in skimpy dresses, with a perpetual flirtatious smirk and constantly coming onto him. Alison's point of view is completely different! She's depressed and almost too unbearably boring to be around, leave alone for a bored, emasculated man to find interesting. Who's version are we supposed to believe? The show has multiple sex scenes which I suppose is to be expected from a series entitled ''the affair '' but which are somewhat unnecessary. You find yourself getting irritated at Noah for being so egotistic and at Alison for constantly sporting a mournful expression . You find yourself sympathising with Cole for having to deal with a perpetually sad, pouty Alison while Helen hardly gets any screen time. There was no reason for this affair to happen. Both on the show and the show itself. Come up with something more original and plausible. It's about time Hollywood stopped making shows with attractive characters and a unnecessary sex scenes aplenty and no substance whatsoever expecting their audience to swallow up this drivel.
View MoreThis show used to be great, very interesting, Season 4 is so boring that it's unwatchable right now, I wish I could just fast forward it and be done with it, I keep losing patience and interest but still I hope it might get better like it used to be.
View MoreI absolutely loved the first two seasons. I was obsessed! But, unfortunately, the third season was awful. The prison guard stuff, the stabbing, the French lady and her husband, Vik, the mother-in-law, Luisa, the daughter's gross boyfriend, Noah's family... all of it. It was just painful to watch. Hopefully, season 4 can return to it's previous glory. If not, hopefully it will be the final season. Then we might be able to remember it fondly, instead of watching it die a slow death.
View MoreTo me, this show is something new and authentic and real. I have never watched a TV show that has two POWs and I it is realistically presented because the characters are wearing different clothes in the same situations but in different POWs. It show how much something means to a character, how Noah sees Alison. She is always dressed nicely and has her hair done. But in her POW she is a mess. It helps us see their internal pictures of themselves, too. I loved when they went back and forth in time. I wasn't confusing, it made sense. It kind of has a circular narration, which is very unusual but it works here. All in all, this show is very refreshingly good after all those disappointing shows that are screened recently. I love it.
