Very disappointed :(
good back-story, and good acting
disgusting, overrated, pointless
Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
View MoreIn this era of Blacks (or whatever their name of the day) is at any given time) seemingly being "offended" by air, I object to this series as being offensive to whites and request its removal from broadcast media. Blacks can object to virtually anything, and the time has come for retribution from the heretofore Silenced Majority which has to tolerate innumerable events with "Black" in their name, but cannot have "White" in any event name because it is discriminatory. I am going on, because the review criteria demand 10-lines. I am fed up with blacks complaining about their alleged treatment after being coddled by the government with innumerable federal programs.
View MoreI was born in 85 so I remember this show from nick at night in the 90s. Just started watching again on tv1. Such a funny show with a good balance of black and white characters. My favorite moments are when george drops the n word and even louise uses it. Its funny and doesn't offend me. Age has added charm and this and threes company are my favorite old sitcoms. Im actually glad i never watched many episodes because for me even though its over 30 years old its a fresh brand new experience for me. Mother Jefferson is hilarious as well. I love when she attacks georges friend whos hitting on louise. Its a shame it was canceled so abruptly and there was no proper series finale. Great show!
View MoreThis show was so funny that it lasted 11 seasons. I watched this show from the time before I was born until I was in the 5th grade. The funniest episodes were, are, and always will be the episodes that had BOTH Mother Jefferson AND Florence the maid. This was also one of the first sitcoms that replaced a main character with another actor and the first actor came back. Two Lionels! Confusing to all people who are not devout Jefferson fans. Damon Evans married Jenny and Mike Evans was there when Jenny had the baby. RIP Mike Evans AKA the 1st and 3rd Lionel. This show also had the two actors who were the longest reoccurring guest stars in t.v. history. Charlie the Bartender and Ralph the Doorman. They played on a sitcom for 11 consecutive years without ever being a regular character. George would do something zany every episode. And Louise would have a smart remark every episode. Helen would always argue with George, but Tom would listen to him. There were so many great guest stars in this show. Sammy Davis Jr., Sister Sledge, Andre Crouch, Billy Dee Williams, Gladys Knight. Look for Ernest Thomas and Jaleel White before they became stars in episodes of this show. There are still some mysteries in this show. Whatever happened to Jenny's brother?
View MoreI used to worship THE JEFFERSONS. My Mom recorded every episode for me back when it was on. I watched it over and over. I loved the way George ran the house and how he was mean to his maid Florence and to basically everybody else as well. He was the owner of SEVEN DRY CLEANING STORES (one near you). He was racist against the white man, and for good reason...he was Archie Bunker's neighbor!!
