I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
View MoreThe story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
View MoreAmazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
View MoreA great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
View MoreI'm not sure why the hatred for this series. It leaves a little to be desired concerning backstory, but I think you get enough of it for satisfaction. The show incorporates not only, the Soldier sentiment from the front lines, but also shows what families experience on the home front--that everyone is in this fight together. It also deals with the intricacies of loyalties among those who are native-Iraqis, the struggle in deciding who to side with, and the moral issues the American troops run into, while trying to make it out alive. It also shows the human, family, and team elements common among Soldiers in wartime. So far I have enjoyed the show. It is full of action and pretty intense gunfights, battles, comms issues (the real, military deal), the whole nine yards. I've enjoyed the series for its entertainment value, but also for some of the realism and different aspects of what it takes for our troops on the front lines and their families as they take the long road home.
View MoreI can not believe these long winded full on negative reviews. What not enough pazazz for you??So full of it behind their computer screensWhat would get to me is the waiting...The wives at home needing to fill the hours to distract themselves from worrying & waiting. Stuck unable to go forward or plan ahead. The soldiers yanked along from training to suddenly they're there in the truck, waiting to leave on their first mission,... Many a war in recent modern history i have not believed was justified, but there is no doubting the valour, bravery & selflessness of each & every soldier, engaged in conflict.
View MoreI had hoped, because it was Nat Geo doing this, that this would have strong production value and a good story. I was sorely disappointed. The wrong people are writing, producing and directing these "films." These people are left wing coastal dwellers that don't have a thing in common with the characters for whom they write. What they write is propaganda with themes that serve people like themselves. They portray the people of Iraq as sympathetic Ma and Pa Kettles. They blandly copy the "folks at home" aspect straight out of "We Were Soldiers" because they want to sell the story to as many people as they can (female viewers), not because it serves the story. They think that putting actors into uniforms and vehicles with weapons that look and sound real is enough. They don't know anything about the warriors they portray and they don't understand the reasons or the motivations or the lessons of war. My advice to people who keep making these movies: Don't waste your money or our time.
View MoreThese made for TV series do no justice to the reality of being in a war zone and never will, the poor acting adds to the feeling of the unrealism and characters that you don't care if they live or die due to having no likable characteristics. The cleanliness of it all and the lets be in church in our Sunday best and everybody looks like a soccer mom doesn't fit well to the whole thing, luckily the child with a bad foot who the Americans couldn't of wished for a more used character type to hobble over didn't take long to appear and neither did the well used stereotypical unfriendly locals the gunfire scenes were reminiscent of an episode of the a-team where the odds of winning the lottery were greater than getting hit by one of the 4 million bullets flying about, unfortunately after episode one i think the best thing to do is go awol and declare yourself a consiencious objector.
