I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Writers got lazy is the best way to explain. Started off good but The last season was horrible.

S2 I'm hating the fact that Zack need so much protection and that he is so ignorant it makes my blood boil I think they should have killed Zach off at least Nora wouldn't have gotten the virus. Its all Zack fault I hate the kid, kill him off or in my opinion he should have never been in the show to start with. Zach is a waste of space.

I had such high hopes for this. Although I gave up on the books as I simply lost interest, I hoped that the TV-version would be better. Sadly, it is not. Del Toro said in an interview that he wanted this to be a series, rather than a movie trilogy, as that gave more room for character- and story development. But what use is that when the story hardly moves forward and the characters are so stereotypical that you really don't care about their backstories (in fact they, and their dialogue are so ridiculous that it's sometimes hard to watch). Or when their development is so predictable that you start checking your Facebook feed whenever they try to delve into the histories of characters you don't care about. It actually came to the point whee I started disliking the people I was supposed to care about, and began hoping for them to die (but of course they don't, no matter what).Yet I kept watching, having been led to believe that there only would be three seasons. I regret that now, as it turns out they couldn't fit all the failed attempts to stop the Strigoi (ridiculous name) from taking over the US. And yes, the many, many failed attempts get incredibly tedious.So no, Mr. Del Toro. You should have gone for the movie trilogy. I'm sure that would have been less silly and boring, and far more interesting.

Neither, it is bad, nor it is very good. That means if you start watching this series, you can finish it till end without hating it totally. But it goes downhill a little bit.What's different here is a complete re-writing of the rules for vampires. This series has merged the science and the vampirism into one. Generally, people who like to watch fantasy or sci-fi because they have rules different than normal life, would like it because the set of rules are different here than any other vampire series out there. However, all the rules were discovered till season 2 and the only thing that remained, was to kill the vampire which took them another 2 seasons.The 'gore' and the 'vampire make up' in this series is too much to handle, but it is necessary as per the story.Even though, the heroes/heroines acting aren't bad, their characters aren't very likable either, however they are realistic. Except the child actor that they switched in season 2. The child actor single-handedly brought down the series furthermore.If you want to discover the set of rules on your own by watching the series. Don't read further.Set of rules: Vampire gets burnt in sunlight (duh). Every vampire turned by the master vampire or one of the master's vampire is controlled by the master. People are turned into vampires by the strain (a thin worm) that gets passed into their system while they are bitten. If you have even a single strain in your system, you will be turned unless you kill yourself there's no way around it. Master cannot cross flowing water on his own (it was a good addition). Silver hurts the vampire too a lot. These are the rules you discover in first season as the series progresses you discover more.
