Absolutely brilliant
Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
View MoreThere's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
View MoreFirst of all I loved every bit of this season including episode 8. Now that I have established that I have probably watched this series at least 30+ times all the way through plus some of my favorites a few extra times. Season 6 was probably my favorite season. Episode 00 (all this and Gargantua 2)was a perfect rap up of everything up from s01- s05. I loved s06e08 but everything in this season is building to the Monarch taking down Wide Whale to become Ventures only arch and then they cut it off when he still has one to go before Wide Whale, this doesn't make since (unless he is counting Wide Whale as the 2 in the 2 he had left before Red Death (who was perfect in giving Monarch advice on how to live a real life if chooses. So with all the build up I know they love to leave cliff hangers but do you think they are saving it back for a special like All This and Garguatua 2 or saving it to explain the history behind venture and the monarch in the next season?
View MoreI'm a fairly easy grader of Adult Swim shows, but I do have my favorites and this could be considered one of them. A sort of riff on the same kind of all-male bonding action-adventure show, spliced with just enough sexual suggestion to force the programmers to put this on late at night, this show is a fantastically drawn, colored, animated and voiced addition to the decade-plus institution of CArtoon Network. This continuing adventure of brilliant but stubborn and error-prone government scientist Dr."Rusty"Venture, his sons DEan and Hank and their body guard(And personal ass-kicker extraordinaire)Brock Sampson takes them from castle remote fortress, government lab center or space station to the next. His arch enemies include the MOnarch and his swarm of like-clad butterfly henchmen. His ally is the well-intentioned but somewhat off-target Dr.Morpheus. Brock's off-again,on-again relationship with the gorgeous,red-haired Russian spy(her name escapes me now)is also a running plot arc. MAybe not a great show(and its morbidly dark humor will repel some),it's still a good, straight narrative of a show to pin between more stream-of-consciousness type programming like "Robot Chicken" or "Tom Goes to the Mayor". For lack of better words,I'll sum my feelings for this show in two:I'm impressed.
View MoreA great adult cartoon in any sense; but I think it really appeals to people in their late 30's - 50 years old. Why? As other reviewers said, this is the best blend of Johnny Quest, Family Guy and Jerry Springer that we will probably ever see. So, those who saw Johnny Quest in it's original form can really relate to how the writers have shaped this cartoon from that 60's original into one of the new millennial "new wave" cartoons (Family Guy, redone Space Ghost, Aqua Teen Hunger Force - hell, Robot Chicken) I will not write a spoiler except to say that the way the characters relate to each other seals the deal.PS: What is the post baby boom generation? For me (45 years old) it's the people sensible enough to know we aren't baby boomers (like Bill Clinton, George Bush and other 60's/early 70's greats that were going to change the world...ha, ha, ha!); but not young enough to be Gen X (thank God!). If you can relate to a certain Soul Asylum song, you are one of us.
View MoreIt really is refreshing to see something clever and original on television these days. "The Venture Bros." continues to produce episode after episode of simply the best television has to offer. I write this having just watched the conclusion to the second season. There is little point in laying out the plots of each episode, as knowing the basic plot would not reveal the sharp wit contained within each. The best part of this show are the little jokes, jokes the creators were almost trying to slip under the radar of the average viewer. I applaud Jackson and Doc for their creative spark and will be counting the days until the Season Three Premiere!
