Excellent, a Must See

Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.

Answer to a trend. Lovely costumes, beautiful locations, slices of drama and the historical accuracy as convention. A nice young actress in the lead role. And history "ad usum Delphini". Short, a seductive serie for the fans of genre. ,

No doubt that all episodes are great in terms of cinematography, costumes and even repetitive hallelujah sound. But, it's great to be obvious example to change the history and UK Crown reputation. It seems like anti-racist, human rights defender, highly warm and kind of family and country but we all know that it's not the even part of the truth. Victoria giving a room in the palace to african slave girl not because she is beyond the century of but also she and whatever she symbolize is primarily responsible for the colonization and slaving almost half of the entire world. So, this series is amazingly epic and distinctly tool of propaganda.

My wife and I have been religiously following this series and always looked forward to each succeeding episode as any devotee would. I naively thought this series was based on the best historical records and research until I noticed the inevitable signs that modernistic sensibilities and biases were proffered as part of the official historical record. The most notable being the requisite love affair between two of the most handsome male leads in the cast. As this relationship began to balance out the time spent on all the other heterosexual relationships, my wife notes this is basically a work of fiction by a present day female writer. Well that explains everything. Unlike "Girl with a Pearl Earring" which is clearly a work of fiction built around the mystery of a single painting, Victoria is a well known and documented historical figure that every book on Western history spends some time on. The plot line is believable, despite all these shortcomings of the modern novelist building their peculiar perspective on English royalty's private lives. As long as you don't take it seriously as history and enjoy it for the 85% entertainment value it represents, all is well.

I have to say that this series is very well made and draws the viewer in with a range of sub-plots that are orchestrated around the significant events of Victoria's life. This gives each episode a dramatic effect which keeps the viewer engaged. In many respects if you have watched Downton Abbey you will recognise that much the same framework is used with just the characters have changed.
