I had to give up on the series in middle of the second season. The writing was so bad that Walker made stupid decisions just to carry the plot and extend the episode. The Texas Rangers are light-years smarter than Walker as depicted in this awful series and to my bad luck I purchased the complete show on DVD. - If you cannot suspend belief then this show is not for you. I did like the fact that a lot of the show was filmed on location.

I'm an older retired guy who gets a 'kick' out "Walker Texas Ranger." In fact there was a verse of the theme song I couldn't understand and I finally got all the lyrics. Helicopters, explosions, shooting, great fight scenes, but you know Walker and his crew will always come out on top. I've often wondered what it would be like getting kicked in the face by Chuck Norris while he's wearing cowboy boots. Credit must given to the actors who played the bad guys. I understand that many of them were from Texas. In any event, "Walker Texas Ranger" has some of the best bad guys on television.

To Grace Zeh I am a very avid watcher of Walker Ranger Texas, & have been watching that show for many yrs & still watch it. Grace I agree with you it is the greatest show. When my best friend of 25 yrs was still alive I went over to his house for the weekend & every Sat Night we watched Walker & play games etc. My friend died in 99 on his b-day massive heart attack 40 yrs old, he had other medical problems to long to list but some where down the road I stopped watching walker I guess I got to busy with work etc etc but now I've been watching it almost every night & its on channel 221 INSP. Here in Colorado Walker is Not on channel 24. I dunno what kind of cable you have Grace but I have xfinity & I just wanted you to know its also on channel 221 INSP. There has been 1 or 2 episodes that Walker coaches in the Special Olympics comps with handicap adults & kids & 1 episode he coaches a down syndrome woman in track~n~field. I dunno if you have seen that episode, check it out sometime. I just wanted to let you know that its also on another channel like I said above. Have a great DayLaura Spears

Chuck Norris plays Cordell Walker, a half-white, half Indian Texas Ranger who could beat the crap out of an enemy with his martial arts. His partner is Jimmy Trivette, who also knows his karate. Walker's love interest (and eventually wife) is Alex Cahill, the Assistant District Attorney. C.D. Parker is a veteran Texas Ranger who owns a bar and is friends with Walker, Trivette, Alex, and other people. The show's enemies consisted of drug dealers, white supremacists, gangs, bank robbers, murderers, rapists and so on.I remember watching this show when I was younger and even today I still watch the reruns whenever I can. I've always loved the show's action/fight scenes, like the car chases, enemies getting the crap beaten out of them, and the explosions. The special effects on some of the episodes were a little cheesy, but they weren't horrible. Some of the lines the characters said were great and others were kinda cheesy. Also, the show did have its funny moments.Another thing I liked about the show is how some of the episodes had moral values and lessons: like never stop believing in yourself or someone else, don't do drugs, don't be racist, stuff about God, and I think there were a few other ones.Overall, "Walker Texas Ranger" is/was a good series. Sure it had its cheesy moments, but in a way, that's what made the show kinda fun. I give the show a "C+".
