Charming and brutal
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
View MoreA film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
View MoreThe movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
View MoreI've read a lot of reviews saying that this program is a waste of time or utterly pointless. Watching the group of 13 get whittled down one by one is very emotional and very entertaining. The trainers are genuinely nice people and truly in love with their livelihood. Basically i think most people would enjoy this program even people who aren't wrestling fans. Please, give it a try.
View MoreThis has to be one of the stupid ideas for a show ever. This is supposed to be entertaining, watching people try out to be wrestlers. As if wrestling isn't enough of a male soap opera already, they try to make this show into a soap opera, too. The winner get a contract with the WWE. Oh Boy. What's next? Are they going to create a series where football players go to training camp and the winner gets an NFL contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. People get to watch as NFL hopefuls run sprints and run into tackling dummies. Someone gets voted off every week. How "exciting". It's amazing how people can be entertained by stupid shows like this one.
View MoreI just happened to flip past this one night towards the beginning of the series. I wasn't a wrestling fan before but I found this show to be very compelling. And after watching this I've actually tuned into some WWF shows. It makes me kind of wonder if it was just a marketing ploy to get us former non-fans hooked. If it was it worked on me!
View MoreVery Interesting show. I like it. It's nice to see how it really goes on. Some people think wrestling is fake, which yes in the stuff they do and the storylines, but if you watch this you can see that they do get hurt sometimes.
