Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
A Masterpiece!
I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.
View MoreThis is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
View MoreZwarte Sneeuw is in my opinion the best Dutch drama serie ever made. When Eva's father is hospitalised after getting into a coma, she goes out to investigate his life. She discovers that her father wasn't a real nice guy, he was involved in a Russian drug syndicate. The deeper she digs into his past, the more she finds out about her father's past and the deeper she gets into his trouble herself. In the end she is totally mixed up in the whole plot and has big trouble getting out. This serie is Tamar van den Dop's debut on the Dutch screen, she plays the character of a very self confident woman who isn't easily frightened. She is a very natural and convincing actress who is able to really be the character she is playing. After "Zwarte Sneeuw" she was casted as Lorna te George for "Character/Karakter" by Mike van Diem, this Dutch movie won the Oscar for best foreign movie in 1997 (Information can be found in the Internet Movie Database). In Holland there is always one really good series at the time on television with the best actors Holland has to offer and the quality of these series is always very good. Names as "Pleidooi" and "Oud Geld" are wellknown in Holland and are often exported to neighbouring countries. Although "Zwarte Sneeuw" was a simular project, it was something totally different, it was darker, deeper and overall better than ever. If you get the chance you have to go see it!!
