Reviews
TrueHello

Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

I made the mistake of seeing this at night, cause after I saw it, I did not sleep at all, I stayed up all night watching t.v.It took a lot to recover from this scary Documentary.Anyway, seeing that this is just an ordinary 3 story house with low rent, beautiful furnishings, large kitchen, 2 upstairs bed rooms, 2 upstairs bathrooms, a larger living room, and a 2 room basement. I thought, nothing can be too scary in this house, but boy was I wrong. It scared me to death, I couldn't help but feel sorry for those living in the house. Seeing that ghost calling Paul's name was scary, but the worst parts were seeing him trap Karen in the shower, drive a truck and almost crushing Ed to death, and standing on the stairs giving a camera man a head on attack. At that moment, I just wanted to scream. Seeing that ghost's face just from and then seeing his mouth smirk, and then turn into a fireball, was enough to knock me out of my chair. After seeing this, I saw The Shining, and The Shining is no where near as scary as this terrifying documentary. I do not recommend watching this, unless you want the living daylights scared out of you. Seeing this haunted me for some time. I am now over it, but I know that I will never see this documentary again. One watch was enough.Do Not Watch This, Unless You Are Willing To See The Shining, The Haunting, and be willing to get scared to the death, cause this documentary will haunt you for some time.

I saw this movie a few years ago while visiting a friend in Arizona. I regret saying that this film has haunted me, literally, since then.I don't really like to discuss or think about things that have happened to me since seeing this film. Is it possible for this evil to have followed me? Trust me, I'm not crazy. Basically, I've had "night terrors" since seeing this film. My wife is already in the habit of waking me up, with force, when I begin screaming with the feeling of somebody trying to suffocate me.The most horrifying thing that has happened was when I saw a hooded evil presence standing next to my bed.Well, I won't say anymore except BE CAREFUL if you choose to watch this!

I've caught glimpse's of these (the other being 'A Haunting In Georgia') but was never able to see the whole thing. A few weeks back I was sick and lay on my coach watching TV. Around supper I flipped on the TV to find this just starting. Having just moved to a new house, the Parker family (Karen, Paul, Bobby and Ed) is running low on luck. Their son Paul is sick with a form of cancer. the two boys explore the house on the first day of moving in. They find the house to be old, spooky, and dark. In the basement they find doctors tools and learn the house once belonged to a doctor. They decide move into the basement and not think anything of the old tools. That night they 'dream' of seeing people walking around in the other room. They still ignore it but soon it is too much as the figures move into their room and begin to come near them. They run continuously from the room but one night as Booby sleeps upstairs, Paul tries to confront the 'figures'. He is confronted by a blacked eyed, tuxedoed man and begins to act strange. The next few days Paul changes, he stays in his bedroom, listens to loud music, and ignores the family. The family has their cousin stay with them for the weekend, Therese, and she tries to talk with Paul. Paul begins to become violent, writing violent messages in his diary and attempts to attack Therese as she sleeps. After they learn that their son is possessed and workers move into the house to monitor them. After this one of the scariest confrontations between good and evil I've ever seen happens and it will seriously keep you up shaking at night. The film, along with its counterpart, is absolutely terrifying and I recommend you sleep with the light on. It doesn't matter if you believe in God, exorcisms, and demons, you will still find this one of the scariest things you'll ever see. Afterwards I thought that 'could this really happen?' Could it?A Haunting In Connecticut. Starring: Vanessa Lock, Brett Fleisher, Rob Pearson, and Tyler Reid.5 out of Stars. Terrifying.

I saw this recreation on TLC last night and it was as scary if not scarier than a horror movie. The story involves a family that is tormented by a demon and spiritual inhabitants that haunt the house. In 1986 a family of six with the oldest son suffering from terminal cancer move in to a former funeral home in Connecticut. The children are constantly tormented by ghostly experiences, which the parents do not believe in at first. A voice calls out to the oldest son and eventually he confronts the voice; without knowing turns out to be an extremely powerful demon. It isn't mentioned, but it appears that he makes a deal with this demon and as time goes by his cancer resides into remission and spirits seem to leave the children alone. Over the course of time the oldest son drifts apart from the family and begins growing darker. Later on the family takes in their cousin whose family is getting a divorce. The oldest son and his cousin are good friends and he explains to her that he is visited by a man at night that tells him to do things. He keeps a journal of his some of the events of his visits. As more time goes by crucifixes start disappearing from the house and the son grows darker and violent. One night after attacking his cousin he is sent to a mental hospital. As he is carried away he advises the parents that now that he is out of the house it is going to come after all of you. That early morning the demon attacks the parents and the cousin. Eventually the family contacts a pair of demonologist named Edward and Lorraine Warren. Lorraine finds the demon in the basement and advices them that a church-sanctioned exorcism needs to be performed to rid the house of demon and its inhabitants. Researchers are called in and get the proof needed to perform the exorcism which they get more than they need. Then the Catholic Church is called in and the exorcism is successful. The family decides to move out of the house shortly after and later that spring the oldest son is released from the mental hospital and his cancer never returns.
