Tied for the best movie I have ever seen
Nice effects though.
I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

View MoreA Silent Voice tackles multiple very sensitive subject matters, and does so in a way that can be difficult to watch at times. On the other hand, I personally feel that when these things are portrayed correctly it can elevate the story to a whole new level. The themes and messages that A Silent Voice sends to it's viewers are essential, and ones that everyone should experience for them selves thorough this film, and maybe even through your everyday life. From a technical standpoint the movie is one of the best looking pieces of animation ever produced by Kyoto Animation, and possibly one of the best ever made in general. The film is accompanied by gorgeous sound and editing along with a fantastic score. The film is filled with beautiful uses of lighting and color that make it's scenes of nature and just everyday life something to behold. The film isn't perfect it does have its flaws, but very few at that. Taking from Chris Stuckmans review of A Silent Voice, the movie does feature some scenes that feel unnecessary at times that can add to its long runtime of 2 hours of 10 minutes( though I personally didn't mind it).Overall just go watch the movie
View MoreA silent voice reviewI watched this movie yesterday, and similar to your name I didn't really know what to think at first. But here are my thoughts:Visuals: Everything felt very detailed, in a very good way. I usually don't like animated movies that make characters look too much like reality. Not that I want to escape it, but that it usually looks very weird. But this film manages to not do that. Sometimes the backgrounds were so realistic that it felt like they put in a clip fron reality which is very impressive. But what I liked most about the animation was how well they put emotions into characters without saying a single word. You could almost see the movie without audio and you would still know what the characters felt, especially one of them that has a good reason to not speak. I also really liked some of the symbolism in the movie that has to do with social anxiety. The story: This was probably my favorite part of the movie. If I were to describe it, the story is about a depressed deaf girl and a socially anxious boy that both think that everything is their fault. I love how they make the audience feel for both of the characters, you wanted to help them through what they were going through. There also many small things about the movie that I loved, but the movie was just amazing in general. I loved the theme in the movie and I love how it all ends. I also don't think I found a single plothole in the movie, which is really good coming from someone who usually puts too much meaning in small things. I loved how they treated the very serious moments in the movie, they made the movie one of the most emotional I have seen. The voice acting: It was all very good. They fit their characters and they did a great job in general. But the weird thing is that the only character that barely talks was the one who made the beat job in my opinion.Music: It was great. Some were fine, some were fantastic, some didn't fit into the scene they were in and some were just really weird. But they were mostly very goodCharacters: They were almost all great. I found one that was a little annoying sometimes, but the rest were great. They all had their pros and cons which they acknowledge in the movie, which I really liked. And that was it. I would highly recommend the movie if you are into drama films. I don't think it is my favorite anime or movie of all time, but definitely in my top 5 because of the serious story elements and the animation
View MoreI tell ya, this was one of the hardest anime film I have ever watched. I was literally so angry at Shôya and Ueno for throwing away Shoko's eight hearing aids (nearly nine when Ueno did try again to throw away Shokos hearing aids). They really were such bullies that if either of them were my children, I would definitely give them great punishment that would wake them up for the rest of their lives. I actually was really glad that Shoyas mother took money out of his bank account and paid Shokos mother. You would definitely feel sorry for Shoko, she was so badly picked on because of who she was as a deaf person. I don't know anyone personally who is deaf but unfortunately, I am sure bullying regarding deaf people exists and its just not fair for them because they didn't ask for it. It really is sad the world we live in. I was even glad this wasn't a romance this time, normally I would say the main characters should be together but in this film, it would be better off to not have Shoko and Shoya to be together romantically. I mean, I really wish Shoya didn't have to meet him again for the way he treated her, although I feel sorry for him that he is thinking of suicide, so is Shoko. It is definitely not a nice feeling when you bullied someone, you are full of guilt and you meet them again with regret hanging over you. That's why I think it would be better to not have the pair of them meet together again. Its a really good film too despite its very sad concept. It really does wake you up to wanting to help someone who is bullied and is in need of support from a friend. Bullying always needs to stop, please help someone who is in need of help folks <3
View MoreWhen Kyoto Animation announced "A Silent Voice's" adaptation as an anime movie, I was a bit surprised. Indeed manga itself isn't too long volume, only 7 volumes, but is it enough to be a movie only? Apparently, Kyoto Animation does not half-hearted to work on adaptation. They adapted the manga into a film that lasted 130 minutes."A Silence Voice," tells about Shoya Ishida, a teenager in elementary school who often perform bully to a transfer student named Shoko Nishimaya who turns out to be a deaf. Due to an incident, Shoya is caught and then his classmates begin to do the same to him, bullying. After this incident, the time was accelerated into high school and Shoya began to close his heart and always felt guilty. But one day, Shoya meets Shoko again. This meeting also made Shoya start to change. For this film version, Kyoto Animation made many changes so that the story can be finished in 1 movie. Maybe some of you are disappointed because of this change, but I feel this is a good thing because the story becomes more solid and does not feel wordy. Many people say that this movie has many shortcomings. One of them is the story that is too flat. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with this movie. Although, this is also a drama genre film is not action or whatever. Maybe some people are not used to the drama movie. Make the audience bored and sleepy. In addition, many also say that in terms of depiction is less. And for anime films like this, this is the best for anime films. If in terms of opening and ending, KyoAni brings back the legendary band named The Who with the song "My Generation" as opening and ending hosted by Aiko "Koi wo Shita no wa".Some of the anime series done by Kyoto Animation lately have different character designs from different series, just look at K-ON!, Tamako Market, and others. The scene for "A Silent Voice", Kyoto Animation is still faithful to the character design that is still similar to its manga series. Not only from the design alone, how to use the color was similar to the original work. For "A Silent Voice", Kyoto Animation has chosen various famous seiyuu such as Miyu Irino as Shoya Ishida, Saori Hayami as Shoko Nishimiya, Aoi Yuuki as Yuzuru Nishimiya and others. So the performance of each seiyuu it no doubts. But for me, the performance of Saori Hayami in this film really shines. Because Shoko is deaf, Shoko certainly can not speak fluently because he never heard his words. Here, Hayami manages to play Shoko perfectly.Overall, although some people think this movie is still a lot of disappointing even extent of regret for watching it, fuck off. Literally, nothing wrong with this movie. Perhaps based on people's perceptions. But, A Silent Voice is a movie you should not miss. You can enjoy the sad story of this drama.
