disgusting, overrated, pointless
Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
View MoreIt’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
View MoreStory: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
I watched this film and was pleasantly surprised, and the lead role of Ty was played excellently by Thomas Q. Jones who was picked perfectly for the role. I would have no hesitation in recommending this film to anyone and I would hope that the film itself receives a sequel and to which I feel would be just. This story must surely be based loosely on real life events as this is a situation I myself have endured (ie cruel mis-accusations then played on by backstabbers and cheats) and I felt Ty's pain. A good film
View MoreTy Matthews (Thomas Q. Jones) is an aging MMA fighter. He gets a chance to spar with Mraco Reign (Chuck Liddell) the current champ. He manages to beat the champ which was recorded on cell phone....an NDA agreement, viral video and a dead reporter later kicks the story into high gear. (They show the dead reporter in the opening clip as to spoil its own plot.) While the film has violence, it is mostly a drama that centers around Ty. The film lacked dialogue and an occasional light scene to break things up. Guide: F-word, sex, partial male nudity.
View MoreA struggling mixed martial arts fighter finds himself in a fight for his life after his one night stand is found dead in her home.I must admit that I was expecting a low budget, direct to video, 'wannabe action classic', whereby the filmmakers intentions fall sadly short of what was aimed for.A Violent Man however, writer/director Matthew Berkowitz should be proud of crafting a twisting story that kept me hooked throughout. A Violent Man occupies the ground of "worst case scenario" situations. After Ty, a struggling mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter played by Thomas Q. Jones cheats on his girlfriend with a reporter (Denise Richards). This however, is the catalyst for a series of events that takes Ty down an increasingly crooked road involving money, sex, death, violence and regret. Each turn in the road seemingly taking him one step further towards his dream of fame and fortune, only to be ripped away from him at the last moment and another obstacle put before him.The entire cast was believable and drew me into their characters, and the character of Ty; a man whom I was truly invested in seeing what became of him. The only problem i had was that it could have been edited down to 1h 30min instead of 1h 47min and the sex scenes could have been edited slightly too but other then that, i found it quite enjoyable. Conclusion - A Violent Man is far more than your average fight movie. Recommended, Rated this 7/10
