Straitlaced Princeton University admissions officer, Portia Nathan is caught off-guard when she makes a recruiting visit to an alternative high school overseen by her former college classmate, the freewheeling John Pressman. Pressman has surmised that Jeremiah, his gifted yet very unconventional student, might well be the son that Portia secretly gave up for adoption many years ago.

Absolutely brilliant

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

A Princeton admissions officer who is up for a major promotion takes a professional risk after she meets a college-bound alternative school kid who just might be the son she gave up years ago in a secret adoption. Despite a talented cast 'Admission' fails to deliver both in script wise since the story is kinda boring and the characters are hollow but also the comedic parts are unfunny and weird and in the end it's a big disappointment of a movie.

This film may not be of the best, but it does hit the second mark. It is moderately funny, not over the top. It has romance in it, but not to the point of it being cheesy. And, then there's how this film can be described to be quite serious but even so, there's still more to the story line. The cast was well chosen, and did a great job.The four stars are only because I felt the ending came abruptly. There were so many loose ends that needed to be tied, I wanted more. But I feel the story was good and the message that we only involve ourselves in a cause if it involves someone we love, or offers us something in return. I wasn't sure if this realisation was a good thing, or if it was to show how corrupt some systems can be, or even just that we as humans are selfish people. But then again, there's more to a film than the message it entails.

When I first watched this for the first time, I saw it 15 minutes after it started, then half an hour later, I just thought what the hell am I watching...?So I decided to watch the whole film, and after that...I really regretted it. I have never known a film that has gotten me so angry in my life. Every character is clichéd, over the top and many of them are so mean...Tina Fey is a good actress, but her character i annoying, stupid and way too silly.Paul Rudd can be funny, but he wasn't in this...Its a film that really angers me to the point of exploding, because of its mean-spirit and cringe-worthy characters and story.

When Wallace Shawn is turned into an unsympathetic character, you know the movie has problems. Really lame piece of movie making.Tina Fey: Dreadful Paul Rudd: Not funny at all (How is this possible?) Lily Tomlin, like Wallace Shawn, plays a cad.Spoiler alert for this movie: Do not, under any circumstances, watch this movie.Saving grace was the ventriloquist bit for Rene DesCartes; cool dogs and setting of movie. Monty Python's bit about DesCartes (Rene DesCartes was a drunken fart) funnier and more alive.Better to watch paint dry than view this movie.
