Better Late Then Never

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

In the frenetic underbelly of Los Angeles, Agent Maxwell closes in on an international cocaine smuggling operation run by criminal mastermind Vincent Camastra. When Agent Beverly Royce goes undercover with the drug dealers and finds herself deeper than she can handle - the case becomes personal for Maxwell who has to combat ruthless killers and dirty cops in an all-out action filled finale to bring the criminals to justice. This is one of Dolph Lundgren's worst films and even worse than "Certain Justice" the characters and acting is dull, the action is boring and the whole movie is simply a mess and for the love of god stop trying to make Randy Couture happen he is pretty good and charming in The Expendables Trilogy but in anything else? He is just boring!!

Fancy Screen Splitting and a goodly Amount of Gangster Violence can't really Save the Awful Acting and Worn Out Familiarity Found in this, yet Another, DTV, Bargain-Bin come-on Sporting Three Recognizable Expendable Type Actors Highlighting the Packaging.It is No Surprise that the Focus of the Movie is more on Two Twerp Leads that are Awkward and Embarrassing most of the Time, especially Our "Henry Hill" like Narrator that Tells the Audience everything They already Know from Seeing Dozens of similar and Better Movies.The Side Plot of Our Anti-Hero and His Cute and Naive College Girlfriend is Boring and so Badly Written and Acted that the accompanying Writing and Acting can Appear Acceptable. Dolph Lundgren, Vinnie Jones, and Randy Coulter are the Money Magnets for this Slick but Ultimately Doomed DTV.The Two Lead Actors are so Irritating and Dull that Mentioning Their Names is a Credit Undeserving, Ditto the Girlfriend. However, for Those that Like Cheap Thrills and have a High Tolerance for Ineptitude, this may be Worth a Watch. The Gun Violence is the Best Thing in this Thing, so for Those with a Gun-Fetish, this one's For You.

I like Dolph Lundgren. He'll never be considered a great actor, but I consider him to be a fun action hero when he has good material to work with. He makes a lot of STD junk these days, but unlike Segal, he at least tries. This one isn't quite as bad as the IMDb rating may indicate. It isn't anything more than mediocre, but considering that I was dreading it, it managed to exceed my expectations a bit with a solid effort. Ambushed's problem isn't a lack of effort, but major pacing issues and the lack of budget to do anything special with the plot. There were a few times in this film that I was actually on the edge of my seat, due to some suspenseful scenes, then it would take me out by becoming way too talky. The inconsistency really does kill it. It also delivers mixed messages. Our lead, Frank (Daniel Bonjour) tries to get the viewer to believe that drug dealing is a great way to make money and get excitement in your life. In the end, the message is "Crime doesn't pay" , which is indeed the correct message, but I felt it was rather arrogant on writer, Augustin's part. Speaking of Daniel Bonjour, his character Frank is a pretentious idiot. He was a smug know it all that I wanted to smack senseless. The fact that he lives to tell about his tale made me even angrier. Dolph Lundgren is NOT the lead. He has a small supporting role. He is relaxed and charismatic in his part, even if he felt a tad wasted in his role. Randy Couture is OK. His dirty cop role had the potential to be riveting, but I felt he handled it with too much angst and over the top anger. Gianni Capaldi is especially irritating as Eddie. His character is out of control, but not in an entertaining way. He got on my nerves too many times. Vinnie Jones seems to play the same part a lot these days. There is nothing here that you haven't witnessed from him before. He says "F*******er" in almost every scene he's in. I used to like Vinnie, but his loud and brash style has worn out its welcome. There is some action, though it is rather underwhelming. There was some shaky camera work that got a bit irritating. The finale is the best thing about the film. It is very intense with plenty of suspense and violence, but it was too little too late for me. Final Thoughts: I'm glad Dolph is beginning to branch out a bit. This movie does have some good things about it, especially that adroit finale, but there are far too many doldrums in between to really make it worth your while. 4/10

a new era has started & there are filmmakers out there the audience blames them for bad films but some blame actors should get too like Steven sea-gal,jean Claude van Dame & last is Dolph Lundgren these three guys are my favorite action heroes but they are making bad films,they produce some or choose a bad movie only for money,if they want they can make a good script themselves & stop releasing movies for 2 years make a big budget good film.but no this direct to DVD cinema is ruining the art i say.the plot of this film there is no way i am telling you its written go read yourself,its same & done many times before some guy was doing good & some guy ripped someone off or cheated or kill or smuggle or all the dictionary of overused words you will find here or vise versa.critics like a movie OK who are critics let me tell you they are either journalists having a job or they are very rich people with a lot of money & time they buy a lot of discs & watch tons of movies in theaters a regular guy don't have this much money.the cast oh please forget it its only Dolph Lundgren appearing in c grade films after universal soldier series.last year the expendables 2 came out which was a pretty bad movie from Stallone who is the biggest action hero in the world,it was a grade embarrassment specially for Jcvd fans.these people are talking audience for granted otherwise people will boycott them if this continues.there is no rush in this film its just a hush better watch rush hour films then this senseless action flick.My Rating For Ambushed 2013 is 1/10 another awful film added into Dolph's Career.Skipp it
